Broncos withdraw offer for Hunt

Yes Hunt is a quality player but he was unproven once too and lots of people were very hesitant when the Broncos first brought him into the NRL.

But you can just tell Yow Yeh and Winterstein have big things ahead of them, just like you could tell with Hunt when he first came on the scene...

I agree Rock, believe me, I don't want us to lose Hunt but IF he does leave - it's not necessarily going to be the end of the world for the Broncos that some people have made out.

Agreed they just seem super confident and have slotted into the backline nicely.

If we do lose Hunt I hope we bring a young guy into fullback. I don't see the sense moving Hodges there when:

a) he hasn't really played there a lot - as much as he might want to
b) he is, IMO, much more suited to centre and will actually build a nice combination Issy
c) he has become a bit injury-prone (and of course many suspensions) and to honest I don't really know how many years he realistically has left in him in the top grade

No I would definitely prefer we groom a good young player coming through.

Agreed. Seriously, even without Hunt:

1. Hoffman
2. Winterstein/Yow Yeh
3. Hodges
4. Michaels
5. Folau

Still an amazing three-quarter line IMO.

Whoa hold up. It could potentially be an amazing backline but Yow Yeh, Winterstien and Hoffman are far from being proven players [/quote:1vo1mfx8]

If anyone is out of place in that backline, it's Steve Michaels.

I know, but I'm just saying that we shouldn't be all certain about those 3 kids and it shouldn't be part of our motive to let Hunt leave...

Agree Rock. Hate to be a wet blanket, but let's say one of those kids suffers a serious injury. Could potentially ruin a career before it's even begun. I realise it could happen to anyone, but to say we'll be fine and have an amazing backline even without Hunt based on what we've seen of these players so far I think is premature at this stage.

If we lose Hunt, it's a huge backwards step for the future of our club.

Bott appeared to have heaps of confidence and scored some stunning tries. As did glory-boy Denan Kemp. In fact Buster Seymour was touted as the next thing since Langer.

Chickens aren't hatched just yet.

And he didn't inspire confidence when his first touch in NRL footy was to throw the ball wildly in field and gift a try to the Warriors....

I remember the first time I saw Hunt play 8-)

Cant' remember if he was any good though... [icon_shady and then my hubby had to remind me he was only a teenager

I had a similar moment at the leagues club up there. He was leaning over something and his shirt had ridden up and his white calvins were sticking out....everyone around me had to also remind me he was only 17!

STAR Broncos fullback Karmichael Hunt has priced himself out of the NRL, with even the cashed-up Sydney Roosters unable to get near his asking price of almost $500,000 a year.

ROFL, so the arrogant prick thinks hes one of, if not the most valuable player in the league now? talk about a big head. cant even make the qld side as fullback, yet thinks hes worth more than lockyer haha

Hmm, when did he make his debut? 2004? I was about 24, so it's not as bad as if I was drooling after YowYeh or whoever today, ew! That's a little bit too far on the side of wrong!
