Your explanation makes no sense yet you keep claiming 'moves in the off-season' as if it is some kind of fact, when the only place it is fact is inside your head.
The question wasn't a bait it was an attempt to see if you are referring to something else or whether you were just claiming the same old.

I was having this discussion with Port. Someone clarify the rules please, my understanding was that a team was not allowed to announce a signing until after the cooling off period. Or have the Roosters not announced it yet and it was just some dick journo?

Pretty sure just a journo. Meaning someone's leaked it. Which side, who knows? Broncos, hoping to spark backlash and making JNik feel bad for dumping the club that developed him. Roosters if JNik got cold feet and are trying to get him to commit. Or the player manager wanting to maximise his commission.
I'm still adamant I saw it say "$220k if he plays first grade", as in, he's still not guaranteed an NRL spot or the dollars.

I'm sure we did want to keep them.
They want to play first grade, but they have players ahead of them all of which are performing well and doing the job they are there to do.
There isn't much choice for them.
Stay in reserves and hope they get a chance. Or go to another club that's willing to give them a crack now.
I don't think Bennett should have made that statement, though.
It kind of makes him look bad now.

Then we'll find someone else to blame Boyd for losing. Failing that reboots of old franchises are all the rage at the moment so I'd suggest a reprisal of Milford to fullback followed by a short round of Drop Reed.
Personally I think if we hadn't signed Boyd then Hodges would have played on next year.
