Bulls 2014/2015

Flintoff has been dropped/rested so he can commentate in the match tonight. He has been good value marketing wise but very ordinary on the field.

The Heat defending 152. It can be done but it felt like 180 was what we should have scored. Some ordinary batting and great catches on the rope held us back.

Freddie batting ahead of Cutting is idiotic. Too many of these rubbish decision from the Heat. Massive clean out needed at the Heat this off season. Why is Milenko batting ahead of Reardon and Cutting. FFS they are crazy.

If we win the toss for the rest of the season, we must bowl first! It's almost like batting first we feel like we have to hit a boundary every ball as the bigger total we get it'll give our bowlers more chance. We need to take the pressure off our bowlers and bowl first and allow the batsman to manage their run chase.

I've watched pretty much every Heat game since the start of the Big Bash and they are the most frustrating team to follow. They are never really out of a game, but can never really finish games they should win. Even in BBL2 when we won the comp, we had to rely on results to get into the finals and we defended small totals in the finals. I'd love to see Johnson play for us on Sunday, but not sure if CA will allow that to happen.

Yeah, as good as Freddie has been in a promotional sense, and apart from his first 2 overs against the Stars he really has been a passenger. I don't mind carrying Vettori, because up until this season he has probably been our best bowler, but he is a liability in the field. You could tell against the Hurricanes having both Vettori and Flintoff in the field cost us.

I'd love to see Cutting bat higher and get himself in, he could pull off some massive totals.

Stuart Law is proving to be an ordinary coach IMO.

Maybe, not so sure on that one. A lot of young players have come on under Law. Burns & Lynn for example who have had their best seasons with him at the helm, also Forrest is playing the best he has since Law took over, you could also argue that Khawaja has been more consistent under Law. I don't think there's any doubting his batting coaching ability. However, our bowling hasn't been as strong since he became coach.

I don't really agree. Burns and Lynn were already on track. It is called natural progression. I am sure Law has some good points to his coaching methods but there are issues from what I have heard.

Out of interest, anyone know how much players are getting paid in the big bash?

I know it varies but would love to know what Freddie and KP are getting.

The Salary Cap is only about $1.2 million so the players aren't getting paid much compared to the IPL.

Totally agree. I have heard people say similar to mister wright that he has bought Lynn & Burns along but they were already pretty much there, especially Lynn.

I have huge questions marks on Law as a coach. Our bowling has been rubbish for 2 seasons in BBL and nothing has changed.

Burns came into the team under Barsby and had his best FC year in 2011/2012 under Lehmann- 781 runs at 41 his best One Day season was 2012/2013 again under Lehmann with 328 runs at 32.

But he's made his Test debut while Law was coach.

Lynn's best year in FC was 2013/2014- 752 runs at 68 in Law's first year. His best One day year was under Barsby in 2010/2011 with 293 at 36.

Forrest's best year was 2013/2014 under Law with 823 at 68 in FC games, his best one day year was 2011/2012 with Lehmann as coach with 426 at 32.

Khawaja's best FC year for Qld was 2013/2014- 554 runs at 46. Under Law which is pretty consistent with his other years.

07/08- 97 runs
08/09- 554
09/10- 698
10/11- 684
11/12- 328
12/13- 438 (Qld)
13/14- 554 (Qld)
14/15- 55 (Qld)

Under Law:
