Bye Bye Johnathan

Prince and Cronk for a start.

Good luck to Thurston. At least he is being honest and admiting that it is a lot about money

They are hardly "coming through" though are they? Aren't they already here, or even gone through?

I hope he stays, despite Coxy's anti-halfback stance the guy is absolute class on the field and losing a player that good is never a good thing for the game. Regardless I agree with AP that if and when Lockyer goes JT/Cronk is the way to go they would destroy NSW hardcore.

Yeh disagree about Prince "coming through" - Cronk perhaps.

Personally I don't give a crapola about players leaving for bigger money but I am of the belief it is not healthy to stick to NRL's stance of "ah someone better will come bla bla bla". It's just not healthy and they have been saying for too long. They've been saying that since Sailor/Tuquiri went.

Dont beg players to stay but there should be a marketing strategy of some sort to counter these issues IMO.

Yes because Sailor and Tuqiri's departure just did so much damage to the game and was a raging success for Union  Frankly Thurston can go, the game will go on, so will the Cowboys (it won't help them but the Cowboys have survived through much tougher times and with far less talent on the books), personally I tend to think people overplay the impact when it comes to the news of a player "considering" a switch in codes or going overseas.

Prince can hardly be classed as coming through but he and Cronk are more then capable of taking over from Thurston for Queensland and Australia and to be frank compared to the past likes of Langer, Stuart(pre injuries) or Johns I'm really not that concerned at the prospect of losing Thurston, quality player yes but not one I haven't seen before. The game has far more important issues to deal with at present then just focusing on the retention of the odd star player trying to land the best deal for themselves.

I've heard rumour he wants out of the country because he wants some space from his family always on his tail pestering him.

FTR Thurston>Cronk>Prince.

Oh yeh - dont get me wrong...

It's not like the game was fixing its other issues either... to have absolutely no counter is a bit weak imo for a supposed organisation of RL.

Didn't know he was related to Charmyne, but I suppose she does look a little like him

hahah since this new article came out Charmyne has had about 50 Status updates on facebook abusing him and paying him out.

I agree.

Prince is absolute class.

I can't believe how under-rated Prince is by the rep team selectors

On his day Prince is one of the best players in the game but Cronk absolutely outplayed him this year and deserves first bite of the cherry at the moment.

Cronk is a legend! I cannot wait for him to make his debut for QLD, he deserves it whether in the halves or as the bench utility.

Princey is not under rated. IMO he hasn't been given enough big game matches to prove himself and when he has he has had some real bad luck. Obviously the best was when he won the clive churchill medal.

I think people were noting he was hardly "coming through" the ranks.. nothing wrong with a veteran playing origin and he's not a vet in origin anyway.

Prince played a big hand in origin 2 last year by allwoing JT to play as 5/8. Unlucky for him he gets bad injuries
