I can see both sides in this debate but am certainly more pro-Barba. But just on this topic, a lot of Bennett-Boyd supporters are highlighting the seeming decline of Barba and not really agreeing that his issues and the very poor management of the coaching by putting weight on, etc have had any major role in his decline. They are also saying he will never get back to his 2012 form. There is also the ridiculous argument raised by someone that the Sharks won't have a good forward pack that made me go whaaaaat? Anywho, what makes you guys think Boyd can get back to his form but Barba cannot given both are in seasons long declines?

I understand what you are saying but I don't think that barba will get back to his 2012 form because it was all about speed. I personally don't think barba will get that speed back so I don't think he can reach those heights again.

While boyds best isn't as good as bar as 2012 his game isn't built solely on speed and I have much more faith that he can get back to his best

Brett Stewart shits on Boyd. After Tomkins and Hayne he is easily the next best passer. Pretty sure he came close to the top of line break and try assists this year? He's also generally very safe and supports well. The latter is where I criticize Boyd the player. Wing play doesn't really count as the whole job in attack is to support your centre, but as a fullback, he rarely ever supports the play. I understand he's primarily a link man, but so too is a guy like Brett Stewart these days.

In his six seasons playing fullback for the Knights or Dragons, Boyd has only got 10+ tries once, and in 4 of those seasons he scored 3 tries or less. Excluding last year, where he played 14 games, those 3 tries or less came over at least 22 games. Link man or not, those numbers suggest to me a player who doesn't support very well. Compare that to say a guy who creates a lot more like Cooper Cronk. He's often supporting breaks and I can remember far more Cronk tries from support play than Boyd.

Tedesco has been injured 90% of his career, dunno how you could place him above anyone of note based on such a small sample size. Gordon is atrocious. Sheck hasn't played a full season at fullback, we have no idea how good he'll be.

My list is phenomenal and extremely accurate based on what position each person will play in 2015, not where they played in Under 12's. Or you know, maybe I just have a different opinion to you, wouldn't that be something.

The most concerning thing to me is how highly people rate Michael Morgan. I can't begin to describe how much I'd be begging for WB to bring Boyd with him if the alternative was signing Morgan.

Hayne is gone, Morgan is over rated.
I'd rate Inglis, Slater, Tomkins, Milford and Moylan ahead of him.
Dugan and Stewart (age considered) in a similair league with different strengths and weaknesses.
Tedesco hasn't done enough to prove himself yet and looks far too injury prone.
I obviously rate him ahead of Barba.

Gordon was bad in 2014, there's no way around it, but then again, so was Boyd. Btw, Gordon is also a SOO rep, if we're gonna measure that way.
His support play is far superior to anything Boyd has to offer, his running game and speed are better too, and they're probably at the same level in defense. Oh, let's not forget Gordon is an excellent kicker too.

Absolutely they are, I said considering age, so don't ignore that. Stewart will be 30 next year and for a fullback, that means he doesn't have too many useful years left in him, so as an overall signing to play fullback for the Broncos I'd have him around equal, but if we're measuring as players over their careers, Stewart is the better player no doubt.

Dugan is a better runner of the ball but has no ball playing ability, but I was one of the guys who wanted Dugan so I obviously rate him, I just don't think I'd class him as obviously better or worse.

Gordon has never been a brilliant fullback but I did rate him as a good fullback, Gordon is also 32 next year, he'd be an awful signing at fullback.

With robinson as eels' fullback..... Yeh, very accurate.

We we can only go off form from a players career, and for the limited games Tedesco had been fullback he has shown many skills which Boyd has never shown such as speed off the mark and great support play. Based purely on 2014 form you couldn't put Boyd above Tedesco, Milford, minicello, Morgan, hayne, slater, inglis, moylan, Stewart, hiku, tomkins, Dugan or even gidley!

id rank him even with barba, Gordon, perret, Quinlan

probably only better in 2014 than zillman.

Half way thru the year I would've agreed but Morgan just kept on surprising me. His goal line defence was only bested by hayne and slater IMO. He's suprisngly quick too. He did throw in a handful of absolutely shocking games though, but overall I thought he was a great fullback this year, especially since he's usually a half!

We were talking about the 2015 Fullback ranking, not as a recruitment to the Broncos. Regardless...

We're really on complete wave lengths if you actually believe Boyd can hold a candle to Stewart or Dugan.

And you're right, Gordon has never been a brilliant FB, just good enough to be ahead of Boyd.
I wish Gordon was the one coming funnily enough, as being 32, he wouldn't impact too much on our youngsters coming through... at least not like Boyd will.

Morgan had a great season but he is nowhere near the best fullback in the game or anything like that. There are plenty of fullbacks I would pick ahead of him.

So based on that I guess that means that if Barba retired after 2012 he'd go down as the greatest player to ever play the game of Rugby League? Makes sense, you should rate players based on what they've got ahead of them, not what they've achieved in a single season years back.

Based purely on 2014 form you couldn't put Boyd above Tedesco, Milford, minicello, Morgan, hayne, slater, inglis, moylan, Stewart, hiku, tomkins, Dugan or even gidley!

I'm ranking them on how I predict they'll play next season, not how they played in 2014.

P.S - Minichiello retired, Hiku isn't a full time fullback, Dugan plays centre, Kidley is a hooker, Hayne is playing NFL, Milford is playing Five-Eighth.. nice list bro, lmao.
