Siebold is doing what a great leader does - ensuring his charges (in this case the playing group) shares the responsibility for their performance. You heard him in the videos recently - he has different guys in the leadership team having responsibility for certain areas, and he specifically mentioned another 2 guys NOT in the leadership team who will also play a part in taking charge on the field - I assume Milf is one, unsure about the other. But that's beside the point.

What I'm trying to say is that I believe Seibs has a number of guys in a number of positions capable of calling the shots as they need to/see fit. Think Melbourne and Smith/Cronk/Slater. Or the Rooters and Cronk/Keary/Tedesco. I think/hope we're going to see a lot more eyes-up footy and a lot more cohesion this year, Seibs seems to be big on the subgroup/subteam thing as another level underneath the team as a whole.

He can still take it seriously, just as Boyd did. Its if they lose the passion and enjoyment it becomes a problem. He can still set a good example and work hard in training. If he is happy doing what he is doing for a job thats fine, if he isnt, then he can stop or change. And i dont agree with the CEO comparison. A footballers role in a company is very different from a CEO's role in a company. Even a captain doesnt have the responsibility a CEO does. If your worker isnt doing the job, thats up to management to deal with. They didnt think Boyd was doing it, so they replaced him.

But at the end of the day, fans getting worked up over a game of footy to me is absolutely hilarious. Its really not worth getting worked up about. It is just a game. If you lose your enjoyment for it, just dont watch. Its a bit masochistic to carry on doing something you get no enjoyment from and that makes you angry. Dont expect or even care if people have a different view, thats what being on a forum is all about, everyone is different. I just dont want to get worked up over a game of footy in the scheme of things. Look at whats going on around Australia and the devastation we have seen recently. Thats the kind of important thing that matters.

It's not how you lose your job it's how you keep it. I have never heard a player say I was so much better off at 19 when footy was all I had and all I knew. I have heard plenty at 27 say I am playing my best footy now I have balance and perspective and switch off from the game and have family.

Boyd's it's just a game has context, he was talking about people on line just abusing players- it's just a game it's not worth abusing people on line and getting upset about- which seems pretty balanced I would say.

Your player attitude can be it's a game and still professional and love it, and train hard. I would argue it's healthier to think it's a game than nothing else matters. A 30 year old that tells me I have nothing but NRL in my life I am worried about.

Coaches that demand nothing else in your life and saturate you with nothing else burn players out.

Of course people on here enjoy footy! Just because they get pissed off about something occurring in the game doesn't mean they should give it away. Bloody hell, what type of fans would they be if every time they got pissed off at something they gave it away. Talk about an overstatement. This part of your argument has gotten a bit ridiculous, in defence of boyd you are claiming people should give the game away because something boyd is doing is pissing them off? Haha these same people that are annoyed at boyd could be involved in the game for 50 years, have kids playing it and volunteer on the weekend.
