18 I beleive. Was on 27 ponits, but then got docked 9 of them for gettting suspended.

Slater has had better years than this year IMO. Not many stand out players this year IMO.
Other years he's had to compete with Greg Inglis, Israel Folau, Cam Smith, Cooper Cronk etc who also polled well in Dally Ms. He's been more dominant within the Storm themselves this year than previously.
That's always the key to winning the Dally M. You have to play for a team that's winning a lot, thus often getting 3 points awarded, and you need to be a dominant player in that team.
The reason the Broncos never poll that well is there's not one consistent stand out. When the Broncos win it's sometimes hard to pick a man of the match because there's usually 4 or 5 players who really contributed well. Occasionally you'll have a real stand out, like Josh Hoffman against Cowboys a few weeks back, but it's rarely the same player consistently.
So I'm not surprised Parker was the only player in the top 10. He's been very consistent, and no doubt often polled 1 or 2 points in a lot of our wins.

Thats not correct. Warren Smith was getting himself confused all night...he polled 18 points BEFORE having the 9 taken away so he finished on 9

Yeah, I thought 27 seemed like it was way too high for him to have to begin with.

How thedid Lyon get centre of the year.
Lack of better, more consistent options probably. I dont think he has been excellent, but there arent many other options
Inglis? Injured all year and out of form
Hodges? injured all year
gasnier? few injuries, in and out of form
cooper would be the only one i could even put up against lyon really sadly
I know he's only a rookie, but surprised Reed didn't get a look in. Not saying he was better than Lyon all year, but boy Reed had a lot of great games and was very consistent.

Quite amazing to think Lockyer does not even have a Dally M. Certainly takes away it's credibility!
Also amazing to see Lockyer is $41 to win Clive Churchill!!

I don't think Lockyer would ever be in line for an award like a Dally M, even if he didn't have to compete with his quality team mates.
Don't get me wrong, Lockyer is one of the best I've seen but he wasn't the type of player who was excellent week in week out, no, Lockyer truly shined when the team needed him to. He wasn't the type of player the NRL loves who puts a motza on a s**t team, instead he was the player who'd come up with the crunch plays against the quality sides and steer his team to victory.
That's why I prefer the Golden Boot award, and Lockyer was truly hard done by not to have collected 3. How Andy Farrell bumped him in 2004 remains a mystery to me.
