Do we really want to sign Smith at the age he will be when he comes off contract as truly immortal as he is?

He has still got at least another 3 years in him IMO. Possibly even 4 or 5, he hasn't even looked like slowing down yet. That's more than good enough for me.

Did he play in the halves with Hunt in the under 20's? Can't remember.

I think they will have a go at Smith. I remember Bellamy saying that the Broncos were chasing him. And earlier this year Smith said he has a high opinion of Griffin.

I would rather DCE as well but if he doesn't leave Manly what do you do then? Hopefully we get Milford.

Exactly. Smith doesn't really rely on speed or strength. You would recruit him for his footy brain and leadership. And he is very durable, how many times has been seriously injured in his career?

the only time I can recall him missing a significant time was when he busted his elbow in 2010. it's even more amazing when you consider how high his workrate is.

I don't think we have a hope in hell of getting him before his contract is up, but just wondering if there is a genuine 'based on real information' hope of getting him for his next contract?

Or is this all just 'I really hope its true because it would be awesome but I don't know anything' hope :)
