Darren Lockyer's knee

It would not surprise me at all if Perry was given the no.6 for the next couple of rounds. In fact I'm pretty sure he will get it.

I would back stagg to do a better job to be honest! I reckon maybe a beale or ben hunt, they are going pretty good in the toyota cup....or maybe we could try moon or ennis there if PJ is back

Ohhh that sucks [icon_non That's taken my confidence down a lot. Ennis NEEDS to start and play the full 80 mins, I don't care if we're throwing him in the deep end with him still coming back from injury, he needs to step up to the plate now. If Perry starts at hooker again I'll be farken pissed as hell.

Darn straight, we never even looked a chance on Friday night until Perry went off the field and Ennis & Lockyer came on. Ennis is a bit of a tosser and has an arrogant streak that comes across in his playing, but he is far, far superior to Perry.

We NEED guys like Ennis, Marsh and Wallace fit.

Darren, you're not really needed as much just now. Would love to see him get 4-5 weeks off now and eased back into it. F**k Origin, it's more important he's there for Brisbane and then Australia in the World Cup imo.

Then we'll lose all those matches. I'd rather Hunt (K) there and Boyd to FB.

Yeah he should be given as long as it takes to get right.

I would hope Moon gets a shot at five-eighth. He actually has some experience in that position and would be a better option than Perry, Stagg etc.

I don't think Hunt is the solution at 6 either. He does a fantastic job at fullback and can do some ball playing from there anyway.

Yeah so would I. It is an absolute mystery as to why Bennett keeps choosing Perry when we SHOULD be blooding someone else into first grade. Not a stop gap player who is no spring chicken and is solid at best in the NRL.

Surely Moon is getting the shits.

Yeah he was given a guarantee by Bellamy to have the 6 spot at the Storm instead he took less money to play a handful of games off the bench, with limited time and out of position.

Have Stagg at 5/8 until Lockyer returns. Wallace works best with Stagg.

Why? What about when Lockyer retires? Why keep putting in temp fixes when we could put new blood there... like Moon.

Yep, he was loyal to the club and it seems he's been completely shafted.

If he doesn't get a few games while Lockyer's out then chances are he'll be gone come seasons end.

Because Moon isn't a 5/8 and never will be.[/quote:38ihwv85]

Isn't Moon a centre?

Am I wrong in believing that Hunt was earmarked to be 5/8 when Lockyer retires?

If Craig Bellamy promised him the no.6 job at the Storm (and last time I checked he knew a bit about football) he obviously has a lot of potential in the role. I don't understand why we continually revert back to Perry or makeshift options like Stagg, Carroll, Darren Smith even when we have a kid in reserves who stayed here despite a much better offer.

Agree MB. He played for the Junior Kangaroos or Schoolboys as a five-eighth. He has the skill to play the position. Yes, he's been poor with the opportunities he's had at first grade level, but so the hell has Shane Perry!

I assume W. Bennett will opt for experience and mediocrity. Hello Shane Perry

He has the skills to play the position? Could have fooled me.

He is apparently a no.6, he never gets a run there for the side and gets to play centre or lock in limited time off the bench. It would be like giving Hunt 20 minutes each match in the no.9 and expecting to see a world beater. Throw Moon the 6 for a fortnight and see what he has with the time and position he deserves.
