OFFICIAL David Fifita signs with the Titans

I think the way Seibold reacted to the Fifita question in the press conference tonight was the biggest indication yet that he is off to the titans.
That or he was just shutting it down so the reporter couldn't get a quote to throw into his article tomorrow.

Even though the scum "journalist" will just use "In Seibold's presser he was clearly frustrated and refused to answer any questions regarding the future of Fifita"

Could be right but the manner he said it just screamed he's gone. Seibs isn't good at playing his cards close to his chest, he cracks under pressure pretty regularly.

Has this guy never had any media training?!?

To deflect the question like that will do him no favours. He should have something along the lines of “The club has dedicated personnel dealing with this matter and I offer no commentary at this time”

Imagine if when he signs with the Titans he came out and said something like, 'Look, I'm going to for the money first and foremost. I don't want to leave the Broncos, I love this club but the money was too good to refuse and that coupled with the prospect of good coaching, I just could not justify saying no even though I really wanted to.'

Just **** him off now, I don’t want to see him play another game in our jersey. I never say this but I genuinely wish him bad fortune and a failure of a career.

He wouldn’t say that because he doesn’t give a ****. He doesn’t love the club or feel loyalty here, he is loyal to the money and nothing more.

If the Titans have upped the offer again (it's actually less over the three years) it means he had knocked back the $1.25 mil offer. So who knows he may still be holding on to the dream of playing for us.

In the sheds tonight he looked like he was carefree and settled around the rest of the boys. I think he's staying.

I know you are upset about it and I am too but I don't blame him. If you were honestly offered a million dollars extra to move clubs AND get the potential of good coaching, I reckon you'd think long and hard about it too, no matter how much you love the club.

Honestly, if I had the talent to be an elite league player, I wouldn't want to develop at the Broncos either. I'd love to play for them but wouldn't want my career screwed up by this current rabble.

I think he is genuinely torn, I have no doubt he loves the Broncos.

No, unlike your mate Dave I am a very loyal person so I wouldn’t be going anywhere, but keep defending him if you like.

Yea i have to keep perspective in check when i consider Fifita.
No way would i turn down that money realistically, it just sucks because the idea of having talented players be loyal to the club is really appealing as a fan, especially when this current group needs all the talent it can muster to drag itself out of the shitheap it finds itself in.

You could easily argue that the Titans will be a better side in a few years anyway, probably makes sense for Fifita to leave. Fotu will turn out similarly as good as Haas imo, if not better. Tino has more talent than anyone else on our roster, Brimson will play for QLD, they've got some other very good young players coming through as well, like Sami, Fermor, Spry, T.Boyd, etc. Also better veterans than us to learn from, like Don, C.Thompson, Proctor, etc. Better coaching staff. Less pressure, etc.

You'd struggle to find too many reasons to STAY at the Broncos to be honest, aside from blind loyalty and playing at Suncorp half the season.

So you are working at company A) for 70k a year, but company B) offers 250k a year. You enjoy working at A) they've treated you well but will never pay you what B) is offering.

At B) you will be doing the exact same job, with from everything you have heard a slightly better boss.

Then take into consideration that you are 19/20 years old and at maximum have 10 years ahead of earning max coin before your body starts to dictate how much you can earn, and you have to retire from the only job you know at 33.

There is no way in hell you knock back B)'s offer, i'm sorry you just dont.

All these figures are all obviously hypothetical, just trying to show my point.

I don't wanna lose him and still have hope he stays, we helped develop him, he has good friends here, helped him out of a shit spot in Bali, but I cant begrudge a bloke for taking stupid money on offer.

Just like above A) wants to keep you but they cant afford to pay someone in your role $250k a year when they have other spots to fill.

Still hope he stays though, just dont see it as likely

Honestly, I'd imagine most players would seriously consider that Titans offer, not just Fifita.

Loyalty is dying in the NRL. It's hard to tell players to be loyal when the clubs can turn against them as soon as they stop being useful.

We all wanted McCullough gone, the club pushed him out because we found someone who looks better, and he was loyal as shit.

What’s the expectation on Fifita when he becomes a million dollar player? Hope he gets the same scrutiny as Milford.

Well he's going to the titans sooo he'll get the Ash Taylor treatment... soo after a few good games "this guy is the next immortal"... then if he has some bad games everyone will forget who he is... or start wondering when he will get his form back... and then he'll have Septembers off.
