Do we still regret dumping Gagai?

What you say is true, but Gagai has gone well over the threshold of what is acceptable, and if you think it was ONE dumb day, think again!

If being booted out of your club after numerous and repeated offences, forcing you to move to a another club and city, isn't enough of a wake-up call to ensure you don't repeat the same idiotic mistake for something as important to your career as the emerging Origin squad, you're the dumbest idiot on the planet, and you don't deserve the effort.

Mate, I don't think you're aware of how many stuff-ups he had while at the Broncos. This isn't an isolated incident!

This is purely about playing the game and adhering to club rules, not about being an arse outside of it, which I really don't think he is.
By all reports, he actually seems to be a nice enough kid, who just doesn't take things seriously enough, has no discipline and is easily influenced by the stupid company he keeps.

I for one, totally agree with the Broncos and Qld standards. It's the only way to be successful in high performance team sports!

I get that you are speaking as a disappointed fan, I'm one too. But it isn't like he has raped or bashed anyone, committed any crime at all, caught with substance or gambling addictions, he hasn't even done anything to 'bring the sport, club, or team into disrepute'.

What it appears that he has done is committed 'blasphemy' toward the glorified Maroon Origin jersey. Sure I get it, but it really aint that big a deal.

All he has done is stuff himself up, and therefore it is up to him to be upset or not.

It all seems like a lot of huff and puff from disgruntled fans taking cheap shots at a young dude who, for whatever reason, didn't turn up to extracurricular workouts...

Has anybody thought that maybe the QLD team just isn't a priority for him? Jamie Lyon can't be assed, fair enough.

I don't think anyone is taking cheap shots at him. I couldn't give a **** what he does, he's only ruining it for himself as you have pointed out.

The fact is that this thread is asking do we regret getting rid of him and a lot of us are saying no. That's not having a go at the guy and I hope he picks up his act, but I'm also not going to say we should have stood by the ungrateful sod just because he is probably a nice kid

FTR no I don't regret it and I absolutely don't care about this incident, I'm interested in hearing this stuff when it's about our own team but don't care what happens behind closed doors in other clubs.

Personally, i didn't regret it at the time and i don't regret it now.

I regret that it HAD to happen though ... i don't think his form at Newcastle last season would have happened had he not been sacked and had a wake up call of sorts...

but he really does need to get it into his head that playing rugby league for a living is a privilege, one that he is very lucky to have. and one that many of us would give anything to be good enough to do.
