I can not fathom why we would sign folau just to lose Ennis, it's crazy.

I would rather keep Ennis and Hannant than welcome C. Smith into the side. I doubt Cam will leave now Bellamy is staying in MElbourne

Hannant hasnt been playing all that well in the last month and Kenny has been playing great, if Hannant leaves Kenny is good cover imo, as for ennis its a shame but we do have some good kids coming through in NYC..... i could handle loosing one but two would be hard to take..... be interesting to see how it all pans out, Bruno did tell players to make up their minds and Ennis' mananger said on the weekend they hadnt got an offer from the broncos yet so ennis is obviously on the outer.....

I fail to see the point of letting Ennis go. Surely, surely, surely, they see why a decent #9 is so important.

Either the club is holding out on something big (getting Smithy from Melbourne), or something meh (Shaun Berrigan coming back), or they have totally lost the plot.

It's very sad if it's true. His good form this season has shown just how handy a player he is. Mind yu Canterbury have a lot of money in the kitty and our bank is a bit low with Israel F coming here next year. That's just football I guess.

We can't keep everyone - he's been sensational this year but if he's getting more money at the Dogs good luck to him

Yeah but we threw big money at folou and now we look like losing Ennis. We would have had the money to keep Ennis had we not signed Folou. As others have said Hooker is a specialist position and quality hookers dont come along everyday. Look how long it took for us to fill another specialist postion i.e halfback!!! Big mistake if its true and if true I agree cullen should be sacked!!

What other positions are specialist positions?

Basically everyone except the forwards are "specialist".

Who cares? We now have 2 "specialist" centres.

But we still need a quality hooker. if we lose Ennis we should go after Cam Smith when he is off contract. Lockyer will be off contract at the same time and will probably go to England so we should have the funds.

Even 5/8 is becoming less of a specialized position. as a lot of clubs are using back rowers there now.

And the opportunity to sign an international centre/winger of Folau's standard doesn't come around everyday either and as much as I want to keep Ennis, I have to question the value in getting the bidding war over a player who has by and large spent a large amount of time at the club on the sidelines through injury and has had inconsistant form when he has played, especially when we have PJ Marsh at the club and Tom Butterfield coming through the ranks. As for hooker being a specialist role I agree to an extent though its no where near as specialist IMO as halfback especially when Shaun Berrigan can slot in and excel in there and do an outstanding job yet he wasn't a specialist hooker.

The hooker is the first man to touch the ball in every play, if you don't have a good one then your "specialist" centres don't see the ball.

I agree that Folau is a better player than Ennis, but we've got centres and wingers. As far as I'm aware, we don't have a wealth of hookers lining up to play first grade. PJ Marsh is there, but how many years does he have left? I admit I don't get to see Toyota or Queensland Cup games, so there may be someone there that I don't know about.

I just hope there's a bloody good back-up plan in place, otherwise a big [icon_thumbs_do to Bruno.
