With Piakura being in, when he comes on, I can totally see Capewell going into the middle so that we’ve plenty in the front row engine room.

I hope Kev & his staff wisely uses our interchanges.

Not worried at all, because we got dis:

As I’m watching this highlight reel I’m thinking the storm centres are watching this in their video sessions this week over and over again. That’s gotta take a toll and put some doubt in their mind.
Against every team on here we were able to virtually walk through their wing/three quarter line.

Hopefully Kevvie learnt enough under belly to wise our boys up as to the likely black arts he will deploy.

As Paddy said “he’ll do him, and the rest of the team will do them and we’ll win on Friday night”.

Rosie is getting ready now if I do visit Brisbane on Friday it's a shame I can't take her to suncorp stadium

Kinda wish we were playing this at the gabba lol. I still can't fathom melbourne's record up here. It's their 2nd home 🤮

**** we need to win just to beat this hoodoo

Capewell is very handy to have. Between him, Walters and Cobbo most of the teams positions are covered incase of an injury.

Coates side has to be a target his defensive decisions are horrible without the speed of Walsh coming at them.

We have to change things up during the game. I can feel an intercept or two could be on the cards if we play dumb.

How many intercepts have we thrown this year (aside from the reserve grade team)?

Should ask FIFA if they still have the 'Lang Park' signs and throw them back up. Storm have never beaten us at Lang Park.

EDIT: Haha, what sorcery is this? I didn't type 'Lang Park', I typed 'Bris bane Stadium' (no space) - just so I don't get corrected!

Watching those highlights, it genuinely amazed me how good Walsh is at getting the ball out to the wing without risking the intercept. The depth that Staggs and Cobbo have helps that as well - the one against Souths in particular could afford to be so flat across the face of the Souths players because Cobbo timed his run beautifully, and gave Walsh the space to just drill it out to him. Cobbo's speed and strength then just kills them on the outside. Compare that to the intercept Madden threw last week - he and his runners were basically in the Melbourne line by the time he throws it.

Walsh does have an errant pass in him, but it's usually behind the winger and into touch, not into the hands of the opposition.

My biggest concern for this game is our discipline with the ball, if we push passes that aren’t on and keep missing our shots Melbourne will build into the contest and strangle the life out of us. It’s happened a few times this year, including most recently against Canberra. We have to be composed!

They will also look to expose Staggs & Cobbo rushing one out off their line, I’ll be surprised if they don’t score at least once going there.

Call me a masochist, but I'd love for it to go down the same lines as the storm v panthers game earlier in the year. Storm come out and score 2-3 quick trys, Cronk/Smith and Slater (depending on channel) are absolutely frothing over the team and the greatness of Bellamy and Munster. Bhq goes into meltdown. Some of the more...tender members on here start talking about sacking kevie, DD is in fact a wanker, Billy fucking Walters etc etc.

The broncos then pile on 30 or so unanswered points, mostly through or around NAS. Bellamy cam is no longer an option because the window is smeared with an impenetrable coating of spittle. Smith/Slater interview players with red rimmed eyes, struggling to hold back tears. It all gets too much for Smith and he breaks down. Patty, being the legend he is, consoles him. Gently rocking him in his strong, yet gentle arms. NAS, upset at letting his team down, asks Flegler if he could get a hug and flegs tells him to get fucked.

Sure, some people may die from heart attacks etc but it's the price I'm willing to pay for my own enjoyment. Xox

If we complete at over 80% then we should win.

The middles we have should have no issues getting a roll on, if we complete above 80% then Reynolds can kick us to victory.

The big issue we have with Melbourne is not converting our chances.

We get into good positions where we should score, but something flukey happens and we miss out, like a drop ball over the line leading to a 7 tackle set, etc.

All of a sudden storm get the slightest bit of momentum and then we concede and the game gets close instead of us being able to pull away. Against storm last week it was the intercept from Madden... we were all over them and then throw an intercept to bring the scores even... I think the intercept came after Oates was caught after the linebreak as well, so two bombed tries leading up to an intercept and scores being even.

If we're going to win we need to strike and then keep the foot on the throat. Get through our sets and keep winning field position. We put those two tries above on then the game is potentially 24-6 heading into halftime. Instead we concede the intercept and then another flukey try and we're down at halftime.

Storm don't have a great long kicking game and when they can't get their roll on, they'll spread it wide and look for easy meters on the edges.

If every bronco is on their game then we can put on a big score... it's just that 'stuff' goes against us at some point against the storm and they keep themselves just within distance... and that slight change of momentum allows them to get on top.

It's about us being ruthless and that's something we've not been good at this year.

We actually have the better team this year... if we go into this game focussed and angry then they cannot stay with us.
"If we're going to win we need to strike and then keep the foot on the throat."

Reminds me of something.......

Strike first, strike hard, no mercy .....
