POST GAME Finals Week 1 - Roosters vs Broncos

You said it. He rolled the dice on diving over to score. He had 2 unmarked players outside. Could have taken the odds on the pass.

He took the common sense approach.

Blaming him for the loss is completely wrong.

Who thinks we can still win the premiership?
Not me. I'm not ready to give up, but our chances of winning are low.
We really need to find form in our next game. If Storm wins tomorrow and we have to play them in the prelim. we should use our game plan from rd25 last year against them. The core of the group is the same basically so we should try it.

As much as it hurts, I kind of got to just enjoy that game. I'd resigned myself to the loss after 20 minutes and never expected us to win so by the time we got in front obviously I was stoked but still had the feeling we would lose it.

When bitchface Mitchell went over, I just felt like it was justice for how bad we were.

I think we have all had that feeling that we can't win the comp for a while but that has always been held alight with that thought of "but maybe"....

I'm still holding hope, but am a bit of a realist at the same time.

The only real positive was the fact we never give up. Ball control was terrible. Kicking game ( as usual )was terrible, Defence was terrible. We have some gutsy players, but we make too many dumb mistakes. Left side defence looks like there is nobody knitting them together, seems no communication.

I'm not blaming him. Just saying we score off that play we win. He could have stepped to his left steadied and passed for a certain try. But that's all in hindsight. When it was live I thought he'd score himself for sure.

I don't want to offend Nigel Vagana here but our islander boys were playing like they were wearing Warriors jerseys tonight. Pitiful efforts from blokes like Milford, Blair, Moga and Ese'ese.
disagree,
after a horrible start things started to turn when Offa and Esse came on. Blair and Thaiday were found out against the Roosters forwards. They were harder, faster and hungrier. When the bench boys came on they started to hit back.
I was screaming for Bennett to get them on in the last 10 but I wasn't sure if we had any changes left.
Bennett probably went with experience in the last 10 but I think Blair and Thaiday failed to punch hard when we needed them

He makes a good point. Blair was off the field most the game. So where's the leadership.

There isn't any. With the revolving door of captains we have had over the last few years I swear they no longer even care about it and just name someone because they are contractually obligated to.

Surely they can't be so misguided to think what Blair is dishing up is actual leadership?

They might as well give it back to Thaiday. At least he talks...

That assumes the rest of the game would have played out exactly the same way which would be impossible.

Regardless, Glenn did nothing wrong.

And to be fair Thaiday nearly won us the game with that cutout pass but Benji fucked it up

If I'm honest I really don't like Benji at halfback, Kodi had a good game at fullback but I want him back in the 7, he and Milf work much better together.

Benji just seems to be hit and miss and messes with Milfs game.

I reckon give offa a crack at run on. Has a good motor and runs hard. Blair has been getting dominated badly at the start of the game.

Well that was spectacularly shite.

Took 35 minutes for shoulders to be put into tackles.

We were lucky to get close but am soo sick of turning the ball over after we score.

We badly need a 7 with a good kicking game.

Ofa was alright, Ese didn't seem to do much. He also dropped the ball clean in the play the ball. Every team has a dumb player who makes a stupid error each game but we've got 4 of them.

I would give it to Gillett, or possibly McGuire.

They communicate a fair bit out there and lead by actions.

Benji shouldn't have kicked it but we also wouldn't have scored if he put it through the hands, we ran out of space. 4 on 2 is great when there's more then 5 metres to work with but we had about 3 metres of field to the right of him

Was a real mistake to have Kodi off to start the game.

Thought Nikorima, Glenn, Hunt, Oates and Kahu were our best.
