Finals Week 2

Good game but another shit call for the Tafoua try, he dropped it cold. WTF are these guys looking at.

I don't know how it was given . No brainer

Souths will destroy Manly next week, they look busted and at the end of their season.

I don't have a problem with Taufua's try. it seems like he probably dropped it but I couldn't say there was enough evidence to overturn the call on the field. that is the way they have been calling it all year, so they are being consistent at least.

mixed fortunes for John Morris though. hero one week and villain the next

yeah there was no evidence apart from the video that showed him dropping the ball. Shocker

Still a long way to go. Manly will come out firing like they did against the Storm.

For sure but Choc is on one leg and Lyon, even though he came good, clearly did something to his leg/calf. They're also coming off 2 very physical matches, whilst you guys have had a week off (more importantly, Inglis has had a week off). They won't be easy beats, but you guys should certainly handle them.

well the video looked different to many other people because I don't think it showed him clearly dropping the ball, nor did the VR and there are other people who feel the same way. to overturn the try is has to be conclusive, I don't think it was that.

so you can either choose to believe that everyone who disagrees with you is mentally and/or visually impaired, or you can accept that the whole incident isn't quite as black and white as you're making it out to be

Well I agree with Phil Gould "I couldn't give it". Video ref got it wrong plain and simple.
and by the way . I hate Manly.and the sharks

I hate admitting it but despite the Taufua call, which was by no means a howler at all, the reffing was the best I've seen in some time. They let the game flow and only called it up when needed as opposed to the penalty every ten seconds yawnion style rubbish we've got most of the year. Well done refs.

Gordon did a shoulder charge and wasn't called. Huzzah!! I love the old shoulder!!

And Morris, that is the what the hell moment for this year, you potentially cost your side a place in the prelim. Idiot.

i agree the standard of reffing was pretty good. Good game. Just that one over intellectualised decision. Should just come back to common sense. If the ball flips out of your control and your fart grounds the ball . It's no try.

High quality game that went down right to the wire. Will be a big battle for Manly next week though facing a refreshed Souths team after playing 2 physical matches and Watmough and Lyon carrying injuries. Can never write of Manly though they are a great team that turns up to play every week. Best player for Manly was DCE while Gordon was exceptional again for the Sharks.

I thought the Taufua try was the correct decision as it looked like he had downward pressure on it. I hope the Cowboys watched the game tonight, as I said last week even if they won they would've played been beaten this week, Manly would've beaten them by at least 12 points.

Yes I've been well aboard the bash a ref train of late but honestly tonight, I didn't think they were that bad. Ashley Klein still rubs me the wrong way and I think he's an absolute **** sucker ....and he innocuously proved it again tonight with some of his "decision making"

but otherwise,

The Tafaua put down ...mehhh, I've seen worse called a try

and Gallens no try was clearly John Morris breaking the rules. Whether Gallen would have still scored or not is a moot point.

Manly have run out of steam. Gonna get smashed by the Bunnies next week.

Well, to me, it looked like the ball hit the turf before he had his hand on the ball, and when he did, it didn't look like downward pressure to me.

It doesn't really matter though, for mine, Manly were the better team, although if Carney played, I reckon the Sharks would have won.

Next week, Souths by 8 with Inglis the difference.

Yeah....I'm not so sure. He's not a big game player and I have no doubt he would have gone MIA like he has done many times before when his team needs him most.

Least he gave himself an excuse this time.

He wouldn't need to do much to finish Manly off, Cronulla was all over them in the end.

No point playing what ifs when Manly were just as disadvantaged as Cronulla. I'm sure they would have loved Brett Stewart & Jason King on the field, so really it's a moot point.

Manly were just better balanced across the paddock. Cronulla absolutely smashed them up-front but the Sharks lacked quality out-wide and I don't think Carney would have been good enough to compete with the halves pairing of Foran/DCE - they're just too good.

IMO

Both Stewart and Carney play = Manly win
Just Carney = Sharks win

Either way, Manly are going to get monstered next weekend.
