First Test- Australia v South Africa

It would be a nice luxury for SA if they still had a top six of

Smith
Prince
Amla
Kallis
De Villiers
Du Plessis

to have de Kock coming in at 7. Get through these two and de Kock and I'll be over the moon. Great we've got three walking wickets plus the big one of Amla but these two plus de Kock are the real other strike power they have.

I had my doubts about Siddle but I believe in that first spell he bowled very well

We could say the same if we threw some retired players in too.

Warner lucky there. If he was given I don't think we would've asked for a review. If it was Watson on the other hand....

What a great display of how you bowl on the opening morning of a Test match- full and that fourth stump line and that simply makes them make a decision. South Africa came up with the wrong call too many times in that first hour.

It takes guts to pitch up like that and risk the runs but high reward if it goes well.

I thought post lunch Australia were a bit negative; take out the cover and put in catchers and keep pitching it up!

South Africa did well to get to 242- if they bowl well that's a good score to scrap together given the start. They only got 225 last time here batting first and won by 309 runs as well as 281 in 2008 batting second and won by six wickets.

Up to Australia now to capitalise on the bowlers work today.

Great day lads
@1910 great show by a bunch of rookies

Well that would have been easy money to win- I could have guessed who would be the among the first to say something stupid/untrue either on purpose or because they don't understand cricket.

Congratulations.

Amount of Tests you play doesn't dictate your ability; Massie got 16 wickets on debut for Australia at Lord's but it doesn't change his status of first Test. If in 1972 I'd said gee he is inexperienced- do you then say no he's not he got 16 wickets well you would but anyone with a brain wouldn't.

Similar you can say gee they're inexperienced without commenting on ability and performance. I actually stated several times my observation of experience isn't anything to do with ability it's just to do with Tests played and said they're both very good bowlers.

You should stick to making wrong statements and then avoiding discussions champion.
