OFFICIAL Game III Queensland Side

NSW media a talking up DCE, how well he handled speaking publicly about the snubbing, how he seems to have matured etc.

All I got out of the interview is that he "isn't taking it personally" even though in the same sentence he said it must be personal preferences as to why he wasn't picked. And that he said he was particularly disappointed, and told Walters as much, that he doesn't agree with his decision.

Sooo, he's telling the coach that he's wrong? The coach of the team that he hasn't even made the cut for, he's already arguing?

For mine, you tell the coach that you respect the decision and that you'll continue to bust your arse, and if there's anything particular about your game they think you need to work on, any feedback is appreciated.

Sounds to me that he's playing on the "it's personal" gossip. Maybe he's happy to white-ant the team, erode faith in Walters, so that the moment the team is under-fire and the old guard are gone, a new coach comes in to make "sweeping changes" and DCE will not only be the first picked, but have a team built around him. Worked with Manly, will Qld fall for it?

What i mean is it should not be publicly speculated upon this much.
For all we know he may not get on with Smith and thats all.
I cant see any reason why he should be embarrassed publicly like this. It's just a bit to personal for my liking

Morkel Morkel do yoy have a link to the interview.
I saw post of an interview on 360 but bee didnt say anything like that unless i misheard

Home now. Can't find it, but it was the audio of DCE himself responding to questions, so it wasn't hearsay.

That's the thing, Hunt doesn't need to do much that would normally put him in bed-shitting territory. Just tap in and make use of the control that Smith and Cronk bring to play to his strengths.

True if game goes to plan and he could be devastating he has all the talent to do it. But if Cronk gets injured or QLD are on backfoot with forwards getting smashed then all bets are off. Very nervous when he comes on.

Besides Hunt may be far from the biggest selection issue.

Imagine if hunt scores a match winning try and suddenly those demons are gone. Nek minnit it's 2015 hunt again baby!

Let's hope it only lasts for next ~3 months. He can be shit again come October 2nd til forever

Just saw this quote on an article on the League Live app:

"I am confident. To be honest I think that grand final has really helped me in my career"

Come the **** on, Benjamin.

Saw that too. It's only been brain fucking him for nearly 2 years now. Poor little benny is now a little delusional too. But I still hope he can deliver us the goods this year.

He's salty af in that interview for sure. I don't really have an issue with him disagreeing with Walters reasoning though, which is what I think he meant. I mean, what's he going to say? "Yeah, you're probably right Kevie...Hunt offers more utility value than me"

That said, I'm sure he would have worded it far more eloquently.....and you just know he'd call him Kevin.

It's pretty reasonable that he's salty. I would be if I was in his position, he's absolutely destroying Hunt this year from a form perspective, as well as Munster for that matter, and it's not even close.

For all the praise that Munster gets, he hasn't scored a try so far this season, which is pretty disappointing for someone like him.

I think it's a good thing if a player is that confident in himself. It's now up to him to prove the coach wrong and continue to deliver until the 2018 Origin season.

I reckon that interview is a bit fake, but no more fake than all Walters' ones about why he wasn't picked. In both cases, what does anyone really expect them to say? I think he gave the media enough of an answer to satisfy them, and then move on. If he came out and bagged his non-selection, everyone would be whinging at him about being a sook. I think he handled it well.

It's BS alright but IF the reason is he is regarded as a bit of a knob by the current leadership group then it should be kept indoors and played down IMO.

I really don't care what the leadership group thinks of him on a personal level to be honest. If he's the best player for the job, pick him. I work with plenty of knobs, but I tolerate them because they are actually good at what they do.

If the coaching staff or leadership group don't think he's up to the job, then fine (although that seems hard to believe given his current form), but if it's more personal reasons, then **** the leadership group. Kevvie should sort that shit out.

If it were any other player, I'd be hoping all this negative press would be firing him right up, but seeing it's Hunt, I'm more concerned it'll go the opposite direction

I reckon that interview is a bit fake

Of course it is, the fact he even does a media conference like that when most people would just release a statement screams fake. Also why did none of the reporters even ask a tough question like: Is it true there is a rift with the leadership group? Isn't that what journos are meant to do? Ask tough questions.
