Gillett to Titans? Please NO

Yea i agree. Thats why i think an older parker would be wise. As hes the next one anyway into retirement. And Reed is only 1 yr younger than G.I both with injuries that could finish them up. Reed and his shoulders are probably worse than G.I and his knees.

Obviously not Mitch lol. Jacky boy could do with a new set.

I don't get why we would turn our roster upside down to accommodate G.I.??
As great a player as he has been he is past his best and we would have to offload some serious talent to fit him in. Every year now he is a lottery on how many games he will play and when he does play he is often not at 100%.
We are building an awesome team that can continue to evolve over the next couple of years as CP13 and Thaiday are phased out and guys like Gillett and Mcguire build their status as our new legends. If we are missing anything at the moment it's a bit of depth in our front row but generally the side is well balanced and developing nicely.
I also don't see where GI is supposed to fit in - fullback seems obvious but I would rather a fully fit Boyd who seems to be getting better than a hobbled GI and the only other option for him is really centre but he would tie up too much cap space for the output he would bring to the team.
Let the GI dream die - it died back when he walked out on us the first time - that was the time to have him - not any more...

In Paul Kents online chat today on the Fox Sports Website he was asked by someone called CHARCHO if the Broncos would re-sign Matt Gillett

His reply was "Unlikely"

I hope he's wrong but Kenty always seems to have a pretty good idea of what's going on behind the scenes...

I don't think anyone knows at this point to be honest. I believe he's signed till next year, and most clubs are going to hold off any contract negotiations until the NRL confirms any changes to the salary cap for 2017 and beyond.

Can't see it happening tbh.

Surely he'll wait for Thaiday or Parker to retire and then obtain the $ he deserves.

Yep, and most of the time those guys who have a good handle on things are very non committal. A bit like the weather forecast these days IE 40% chance of rain.

More than likely( ya see what I did thar) if Bennett wants him he will stay.

Why wouldn't Bennett want, on current form, arguably the best 2nd rower going around?

According to Fox Sports he is off contract at the end of this year, not 2017.

Wayne Bennett might want him but he has never been one to get caught up in a bidding war either...

I hope we keep him - his form so far this year has been outstanding - I think he is really coming into his own now and will be needed when Parker and Thaiday retire. I would rather we didn't have to grow another one - guys like him aren't easy to grow...
