Putting and those short 30 to 40 mtr shots is where you will pick up a lot of shots.
When you find trouble off the tee if you can get to 40 mtrs or inside then get somewhere near the pin , say 3 to 4 mtrs or better, you give yourself a chance at par and take double bogie off the table.( most of the time)

I've played two comp rounds this week and playing Friday and Saturday. :-)

Monthly medal aka strokeplay this Saturday @ Ashgrove, so I'm hoping these lessons can help a bit. Been a few rounds since I hit sub 100 so hoping to get some consistency back.
