your analogy makes no sense. To put this situation into real world terms it would be like you were replaced at work by someone and then they developed cancer and the workplace was without them for months while they seek treatment. So no I wouldn't be having a bit of a 'smiley'

If boyd was dropped to **** form or something then yes josh is entitled to jump on Twitter for a smiley, not because someone is injured. If campese or anyone else did the same I would think they were just a **** a human

He's not celebrating the injury he's being a smart arse at being told we only need Boyd.

There's a reason why Campese, Hoffman and Barba were all let go. This is professional sport, you don't keep people leeching off the cap on the off chance that someone goes down with injury. I seriously doubt Raider fans would have been in favour to keep Campese around solely for that reason, and the same goes with the Broncos. There certainly weren't too many fans of Barba or Hoffman around here last season when they were almost single handedly costing us games.

Despite Boyd going down, I'm still glad that Hoffman isn't around to ruin back line moves from either FB or 5/8. He can enjoy playing wing or centre in a bottom four side next season.

Club have plenty of players taking up cap space incase of injury.

Totally agree with all of this.

In relation to the people laughing about this and wishing injury etc. I have been completely shocked and disgusted but unfortunately I'm numb to it now. It baffles me that people can even think that let alone post it, and as I have said previously I can't believe that stuff isn't edited just to appease some ridiculous ideals of free speech.

But at the end of the day during the off season these posters rule the forum, so I will be taking a more casual approach to BHQ until this **** gets sorted out one way or another

Aren't you one of those people who was getting joy out of Gerard Beale getting injured the same season he left the Broncos. I am sure you were and if not I know a lot of others around here were.

I'd be concerned about Kodi under the high ball. He catches like an English cricketer.

I'm okay with living with that if it's part of a long term plan for him to be our fullback but as a short term option I think Kodi is the wrong choice.

You'd expect Greg Eden to come into calculations. Kahu is another fair option. Milford would be ideal which could see Taylor blooded in the halves. A fair few options for Wayne so he can trial them all during pre-season training.

If Boyd were the only player keeping Hoffman out of fullback, I'd probably feel smug too. But realistically, there should be almost half a dozen.

The only time I laughed at Beale was when he was stuck at centre despite leaving to play fullback

I'd like to see Maranta get a shot at it.

From all accounts fullback is his preferred position, and he played ok there when Griffin used him on a couple of occasions.

Milford will stay at 5/8 for sure ..... he and Hunt are the future as far as our playmakers go.

That showed after the Rabbitohs game last year. And with almost a full pre-season of someone preparing for the role, all will work out just fine.

If Barba stayed I would have had him at fullback and Milford at five-eight to grow his combination with Hunt as I don't see Barba as a five-eight.

All information states that Hoffman was pushed out of this club, not the other way around. I'd laugh too if someone said they didn't need me, then after I moved on probably wished they had me around.

Yeah, Hoffman was pretty awful, but he was better than nothing, and yet again, people overlook how important experience is.

Hopefully Bennett can get one of the young guys to fire. Fast.

Some would even call it baiting. But that's none of my business.

i honestly think Oates is a very good option. He runs hard, into holes and over defenders. He can jump and catch. He's quick and can defend well. Kid is a monster and imagine him taking kick returns, followed by Vidot on the next tackle? We would be in the opposition half by the third every damn time!

Can't help but notice the similarities with Bennett being 'unwanted' by the club. Even though you 'hate' Bennett you would be forced to acknowledge his dignity with him never saying a bad word or gloating when the Broncos failed miserably in the intervening years.

Now you think experience is important although you wanted yet another rookie coach !! I don't think Hoffmans tweet is so bad, three words and an emoticon which truthfully could be about anything . I think he was pointing out the irony of the situation and although Hoffman is a pretty good athlete we haven't lost much of a football brain with his departure. I am absolutely certain if the tweet was about Boyds injury Hoffman would not be gloating about it, just the ironic element in the events.
