In defence of Steve Michaels

GOOOORRNNNEEE. Him and Summerpot are too big a liability together under the high ball. My preference

2) Summerpot/Michaels
3) Izzy
4) Hodges
5) Yowyeh

I wasn't in the "get rid of him" camp before tonight.

Now I am.

Sorry champ. Go spend a couple of rounds in QLD Cup and get your confidence back. Learn to stop running around like a headless chook.

Incidently as far as I'm concerned I don't care how much Izzy is paid, if he's better on the wing then play him there.

How would you know - he hasn't had a go in the centres.

I reckon it's time.

He played there last year. Also when Hodges was out.

We know how good he was with the Storm.

I am talking about a Hodges-Folau centre pairing.

I don't see why centre pairings are important? They play on the opposite side of the field. Centre-winger, yes but centre-centre?

Izzy was good enough when Hodges was out, no reason why he can't be when Hodges is in.

Yes, but that's the whole point. You have 2 class centres on opposite sides of the field, so 2 key attacking options across the whole field rather than on 1 side.

Now we have an excuse to drop him because we lost.

He was no worse than the rest of the team but farrk, he has not improved one bit.

And if we are still, in theory, experimenting with an ideal configuration, then maybe it is time for Izzy to have a go as centre and shift Michaels to the wing.

Uhh...seems we agree then?

Yeah agreed totally. But then again, Yow Yeh seems like a better wing than Michaels would so maybe promote Yow Yeh? Either way, Michaels is a shit centre.

Maybe a good centre playing shit. Anyway, I reckon it is now time for a change.

Even so - we'll have him when Hodges and Folau go to Origin.

Gone. Straight to Q-Cup. Folau to left centre. Yow Yeh to right wing. Simple as that.

terrible again tonight

why would you run towards the sideline in those conditions?

where are his missed tackle stats? he'd be right up there...

That was one of the stupidest things i have ever seen.

As soon as he got it, i said to my mate next to me, he'll get taken into touch for sure. He is such a predictable player, he needs to add some variation to his game.

Be interesting to see what Henjak does in response to what seems to be a sad but glaring reality with Michaels, sad, because Michaels DOES have the skills.

Maybe he really is a winger more than a centre.

And from what I have read here & not having seen the match, our problem of Marker Defence has, after many seasons, still not been properly addressed.

Micheals needs to be sacked ASAP, and the "never change a winning team" argument doesn't apply here.

Sacking is a bit harsh. Just send him back to QLD Cup.
