Is anyone concerned that we might miss the 8?

No what I am trying to say is how long has it been since we had a lineup on the paddock that have been together consistently and know each others play inside out?
Storm have had that as have some of the other teams. It does take a while to get a combination going and we have not had that for a very long time.

I don't agree with you on the Alfie era either. Even though we did have great forwards which we don't have now and also why the hell wouldn't you get the ball to Alf at any opportunity. He always had something up his sleeve to make a brilliant play.

Look at the teams who go out trying to buy a GF? Hasn't worked for them because of this.

I do think though that todays players do not have the same passion, pride or love for our Club as players in the past.
Excluding the few we don't have to be bothered mentioning like Locky etc.

Yeah, but it's the same with every club. It has become mostly about the money.

So are we trying to say the Broncos aren't well drilled?

Coxy where on earth did you get that from? I haven't seen anyone trying to say that eusa_think

Apparently a earlier version of WB would drill them better.

precisely .... that's why players will no longer join / stay with the Broncos for less money than they command elsewhere, that's why a number of players have knocked back offers to sign with St George next season and play under Wayne Bennett ... It's all about the moolah ... $$$

One HUGE reason almost no players have followed WB to the Saints is because WB at the Saints and WB at the Broncos are two totally different things. One is a club that has lost two of it's biggest names and has failed to do anything much in the comp for years; while the other is a one city club with some of the best players in the comp if not the world in Lockyer, hunt, hodges and falou. WB is no where near as attractive a coaching option down there than he has ever been at Brisbane.

W L D B +/- Pts
1 Storm 16 7 0 2 264 36
2 Sharks 16 7 0 2 61 36
3 Sea Eagles 15 7 0 2 254 34
4 Roosters 14 9 0 2 55 32
5 Dragons 13 10 0 2 121 30
6 Broncos 12 9 1 2 72 29
7 Raiders 12 11 0 2 95 28
8 Knights 12 11 0 2 52 28

top 8 table after tonight....

For the Broncos to come 4th they need to beat the dogs tomorrow and knights next week, and hope that the Dragons beat the Roosters next Friday night. However, if that happens then the Dragons will come 5th on for and against and the Roosters 6th, meaning we would play the Dragons at home in week 1 of the finals. Personally I reckon we're a better chance of winning in week 1 if we come 5th and play the Roosters down there....

Go Roosters next week then. :D

Although beating the Dragons, who we haven't beaten in ages would be a great boost of confidence to some of the players IMO...and could give us a better chance in the finals.

Well to the topic of the question, the only way the Broncos can now miss the top 8 is if the Warriors beat Penrith this week and Parramatta next week; Canberra beat the Bulldogs and Broncos lose to both the Bulldogs and Knights.

The scary thing is, none of those look out of the question...

Broncos really really really have to win today...but I'd be worried about a Bulldogs team desperate to avoid the wooden spoon, considering they're last now after the Cowboys' win last night.

If we lose a second time to the Dogs then there is no way we deseve to make the 8.

The top 8 is looking more of a joke than ever particularly if the Warriors make it. If the Warriors say win there last 2 games by just a couple of points each game they will make the 8 with a points differential of minus 105.

What a F Joke

The joke is the entire 8 IMO.

My heart says 3 (Broncos), however my head says there is only 2 teams in the hunt, the rest are fillers.

All I can say is thank baby Jesus and praise Allah that we managed to sneak a draw with the Pennies.

Yep. Finals are just warm up matches for Storm and Sea Eagles to prepare for their Round 30 clash.

BRONCOS FTW never write them off with Lockyer in form. WE could easily play like busted ar$es like we have for most of the year though.

We'll be right.

If we don't win today we can't make it or win the GF anyway. There is no way we can go into the finals with zero momentum. Simple as that.

We'll smash the Dogs though I have no doubt.

IMO, if we smash the Dogs - who I reckon will be really trying hard to do us, we should gain the hunger and momentum to go on with it.

If we just scrape home - then you're right.

If we lose, we don't deserve to be in the 8.

And we need a lot more than just Lockyer "in form". The whole team has to aim up to give him the space and time to shine.

Yup I agree.

Especially considering it's a Sunday afternoon game. We usually play a good style of footy in the daytime.

Well I hardly think the game against the Dogs was a "smashing" But the last 2 wins have confirmed our sport in the finals, still we were hardley convincing in either.
