Is anyone concerned that we might miss the 8?

Well I hardly think the game against the Dogs was a "smashing" But the last 2 wins have confirmed our sport in the finals, still we were hardley convincing in either.

RNABAKOV'S BETTING SKILLS AREN'T WELL DRILLED!!

HE OWES ME $100...BHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Betting against Broncos finals spot? The Australia says No.

As I posted elsewhere - CONGRATULATIONS HAMMO - VICTORY IS YOURS (& $100) !

And wow, how easily you earned your dosh - not decided until Round 25 with a smashing victory over the Wooden Spooners. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

Still - I dips me lid to your amazing foresight.

Umm ... had we lost on the weekend or not got a point in the drawn game, we'ld be on the edge of the eight with five other clubs and every chance of being dusted by the knights and missing out all together. So it could easily have happened, glad it didn't but it could have.

LOL @ the drawn game theory that a few people have put out there as a "blessing". We should have won that game, so, glass half full- if we had of won that game we would have been guaranteed last week.

Regardless.....Broncos made the finals 16 straight times before 2008. What would ever make someone think that we'd never make it this year. Worst_bet_ever. [icon_lol1. [icon_razz1

Just out of interest, and not making excuses - my (flawed) thinking about not making the 8 was based on Lockyer not returning from his knee injury in time to lead us.

Well he did - which is, IMO, why we made the 8.

The sad truth - again IMO, is that our main problem is that this year - particularly at the business end of the season, is that we are too much a one-man band, and we won't get much further unless the whole side aims up and gives Lockyer the platform to do his stuff.

For example - forward momentum and particularly defence, coming up out of the line and smashing the opposition.

Yep! When half the comp gets tp play finals every year it's real credit to us, (crap).

I agree rnabokov.

Thanks. And we also need some creative plays out wide - and your suggestions you posted elsewhere about the wide ball/cut out passes should also I reckon, figure in our upcoming game plans.

Like, up in their face belting them up the middle, lots of quick play the balls and dummy half running, then out flank the defence.

We do have the team to do it. So let's do it.

Send me $100 too rna and I'll agree with you as well :P

LOL. So you would have me eat canned soup for a month instead of 2 weeks? [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

One thing that bugs me about the Broncos is when people say "they've got so much heart, they keep trying for the full 80 minutes". Yes, they keep plugging away for 80 minutes, there's not much doubt about that.

But to me, heart isn't just trying hard, it's WANTING to win, WANTING to break the line, WANTING to smash the opposition.

That's what Newcastle showed last week, and they're a club with a reputation for "throwing in the towel" when things get hard (see last visit to Lang Park for example).

I would trade the Broncos' "heart" for a ruthless desire to win any day of the week.

There is no battle to strive for that extra few metres or breaking a tackle under the 10 metre rule, all you see is forwards surrendering to get a quick play the ball to make more easy metres up the middle.

It's a joke, it's making the game very predictable, dull, monotonous (sp) boring.

Bring back the old 5 metre rule, where forwards had to strive, battle ,push, offload or do whatever they can to gain ascendency for every metre gained.

At the moment, I feel as if I am watching the same game over and over again.
