Jharal Yow Yeh injury update thread

Very very happy for him, maybe next year he will still be a pretty good player. As a matter of fact I'm counting on it.

Yow Yeh On The Improve - Brisbane Broncos
Jharal Yow Yeh is making gradual improvement in his return from a shocking leg injury, he tells us in the Deadly Choices Injury Report.

Yow Yeh has now played several games in the lower grade and has progressed to the Queensland Cup, the tier directly below the NRL.

He is set on continuing his quest for a return to the NRL.

"Everything is going really well," he said.

"I am just trying to manage my training times at the moments, but I am getting better.

"My first game was in the second row so that was the hardest - I am not used to playing there.

"But I am back out in the centres now and playing 80 minutes now, so there has been a lot of improvement from there.

"It is good to be out playing for my old feeder club Norths.

"But hopefully I won't be out there too much longer and will be back in a Broncos jersey soon."

Yow Yeh broke and dislocated his ankle in April last year in a freak on-field accident.

Looks like he is getting closer and closer to playing first grade again. I don't think he will this year. But Round 1 next year is not unreasonable to expect. Good luck Jharal, you're almost there.

An absolute credit to him to get back to where he is. I don't have the words to communicate how badly I want him to recover from this, he is one of the genuine superstars of the game and a genuinely nice guy to boot.

I think I speak for all Broncos fans when I say we can't wait to have you back, big fella!! Inspirational stuff. He'll raise the fuckin roof when he takes the field in a Broncos jersey again.

Anyone notice his off the Broncos injury list on their website?

Didn't see that, but I did notice that he's popped up in the few training photos popping up on the Broncos website. Yeah I know he's still part of the top squad, so it's not abnormal for him to be training with them, but there was a loooong time there where he was not sighted in those 'last training run before facing X team' and it's good to see him running the drills with the big boys again.

He also wasn't named for Norths this weekend... <SPECULATION/>

Late inclusion for the Broncos!

I hope not. With Norman leaving, Kahu and Maranta need all the game time they can. The sensible choice is probably him working away for the rest of the year in Qld Cup. He can get a full pre-season under his belt and start fresh next year.

I actually hope he DOESN'T come back this year, I'd much rather see him build his confidence in Q-Cup for a bit longer TBH. Especially against the massive Warriors, and in NZ...would be a torrid welcome-back, surely he'd rather come back at Suncorp??

Don't want to discuss the other possibility that he's no longer going to play league at any level... :crying:

Would explain why they don't seem to care who is outside Hodges. Whitchurch, Maranta, etc. who cares about combinations if your gun will be back soon. Kahu was more recently the primary choice because at least he is looking to be a future mainstay in the 17.

Can't see him playing today as a possibility cos I can't imagine they could keep something like this under wraps, and if he was making a come back I can't imagine them not waiting until Suncorp. Seriously I will move heaven and earth to be at that game, the stadium will erupt when he runs out
