Touche, imagine the damage they could do as partners eusa_think

oh yeah i forgot about odonnell. kaufusi i dont think they would have any problems releasing, hasnt really been too good since doing his knee in that origin a few years back. odonnell also hasnt been making too big of an impact and is getting on in age.

theyve got an awesome forward pack as it is, and the best part about it is that none of them are big name players and none have played origin/test/won grand finals apart from Mason, and theyre paying him peanuts.
O'Donnell and Kaufusi would be on fair pay packets I would say, they've both played international football.

I'd say Carl Webb is probably on OK money too (not sure why though)

Surely he has his famed boxing career he could fall back on?

webbs contract is up at the end of this year iirc? they certainly wouldnt be increasing what hes on, if they make him an offer. hes getting old, hes not playing well, and they have a host of better and younger forwards coming through.

The guys a gun though. Remember that time he owned Luke Bailey in origin. And the time he scored that try where he beat 47 NSW players to score in the corner. I hope I don't have to go on ....

Oxy

I don't think there is any left mate

maybe the time he scored that 60m try against the dogs

...........................and that's about it

Wouldn't be surprised to see Webb go to England.

They were saying on the coverage of last nights game that Thurstons contract was in the vicinity of $2million over 3 years.

That seems a bit much to me, but i'm glad he's staying in the NRL
I think it's closer to 500k base from the salary cap with the rest made up from third party deals.

James Tamou signed for 3 years too, so that's one of the promising forwards wrapped up.

That was my point. The guy is probably on decent coin, but he doesn't deserve to be. He's a myth born out of the 2 events I mentioned, and perhaps the belief that some people have that he could be the next Mundine if he turned his hand to boxing.

About the only thing Carl Webb is ever going to win is a pie eating contest and I reckon Greg Eastwood would still have him covered there anyway

As much as we would love to grab Slater do you think they will ever play for another NRL club?

Furthermore if they DID decide to stay in the NRL do you think they will come to the Broncs?! (knowing Locky will retire and no WB?)

I reckon if Locky was a couple of years younger and we still had WB THEN perhaps!!!... but I really doubt we will see GI or Slater... we might be able to pick up a TOLMAN or something...

Now watch the Cowboys rocket up the ladder!! Good to hear Thurston sign up for the Cowboys he looks at home in there jersey.

Maybe they want to be the new Broncos Hero?

I admire JT for loving the club but can he win a title at the Cowboys?

I reckon he's lucky the power house clubs are no longer but even then they don't seem to be able the higher echelon teams such as the Dragons and the Storm (obviously out of the picture now). I doubt they can take on Manly when the eagles are on song either.

For JT to earn true 'elite' status in the game he must lead a team to a title before he retires. No elitist has not won a competition.

Simple as that.
