Do you want the Brisbane Broncos to make a play for Josh Dugan?

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

What's the opinion of an internet troll really worth Josh?

thats exactly how i see it. did this person actually know him and his mum personally? you lot could say whatever the hell you want about my mum but it means absolutely nothing.

i dont understand why people get so cut about anonymous people saying 'stuff about their mum'. to me its just an excuse to fight back. people try to use it as a 'free pass'.

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

I wouldn't count out Dugan signing just yet. It's understandable why they backed out and to be honest I was/am worried about his history of injuries. Really don't know where I stand. I'm happy with their decision, but would also be happy if they still signed him. If he doesn't clean up his act then they can still always get rid of him later. The 2 mil contract sounds like a load of crap to me.

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

you never know, it could be a ploy by the broncos to get him to drop his asking price and/or agree to terms more in our favour.

at least thats what im hoping, cause we NEED him or a player like him.

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

I too think it's not as cut and dried as it's being made out to be. The fact Dugan is meeting with Dave Smith still makes me wonder if there might be a change of heart from the Broncos.

I'm still in the "happy if they do, happy if they don't" camp to be honest.

There won't be, he was always going to have to meet with the NRL at some point to evaluate whether he should receive any suspension and to provide him the opportunity to counter any of Canberra's claims.

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

I'm wondering what support Dugan has right now, Have the Raiders just tossed him to the kerb to fend for himself or are the NRL doing something to assist him now?

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

Yes, I'm just not as convinced the door is as tightly slammed shut as the statement on the weekend made out.

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

Yes, I'm just not as convinced the door is as tightly slammed shut as the statement on the weekend made out.

“We will not be making any attempt to register a contract for Josh Dugan with the NRL,” said Broncos’ chief executive Paul White.
“While there were some negotiations, they are now over.
“In light of some fresh allegations of inappropriate behaviour, the Broncos have decided not to take the matter any further.”

You may be right Coxy. Reading between the lines, the only thing confirmed here is that the Broncos are not supporting Dugan's application for re-registration with the NRL.

That re-registration point was/is a significant hurdle "if" for the deal with the Broncos or any club. The Broncos have just further distanced themselves and their support for Dugan from that process.

Then again, why should/would the NRL talk in hypotheticals with Dugan about contract registration unless there was an offer on the table. Surely the circumstances of the offer would be relevant as to whether the NRL would re-register the contract?

And a further $2 million deal for Ash Harrison to play five-eighth.

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

saving the biggie for last though - $5mil 5 year deal to get Michaels back to captain/coach us.

Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

Don't forget Brent Tate is off contract. We could get Costigan back.

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

Well, if we just made our home jersey Maroon, Tate would be worth the entire salary cap.

Accept your fate, bring back Tate!

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

What's Casey McGuire doing these days?

Re: Josh Dugan - Broncos withdraw their offer

lol sign Berrigan and Tate as our centre pairing for next year! Hodges to fullback. Get Minto back to play wings, TC for 5/8, Lockyer out of retirement for halfback, Petero to 8, Casey McGuire to 9, Webcke for a short stint in the 10, Costigan can play 11.

The Dragons could have a contract on offer for the NRL to look at.
