Exactly, he asks questions of the opposition defence, you don't know if his going to run it, pass it, put in a grubber, chip kick etc which makes it very hard for the opposition to simply commit all their players to him because it can be at their own peril. Hoffman is too easy to read, he might put in the odd grubber but 99 percent of the time he will run it and that just makes him a liability with the ball in his hands in attack, he might make some good metres but overall the opposition defense isn't concerned about commiting too many players to tackling him cause they know in the end his going to be tackled.

A half has to have a multidimensional game as GCB puts it so well.

It's a testament to the quality of this side to be doing as well as we are with a cardboard cutout for a half.

Hoffman's role is not to screw up, and hopefully, do something out of the ordinary, which he is although he can defend well which is something.

Come to think of it, he'd make a perfect decoy runner.

I think they should bring in the death penalty for fairy floss fans who say that ...

I also think they should bring in the death penalty for people who say "do you know who I am??" and radio DJs who don't back-announce songs ....

I think the extra beef being added to Barba is all pointing at him moving into the 6 next year with Milford playing at fullback.

Yeah you would hope so. If it is the plan then we have wasted a year putting him at 1.

True, but why does that make this year a waste?

He's building a combination with Hunt, and with Hoffman being the more solid defender, it's the better solution.

I do wonder how we would look with Maranta 1 & Barba 6...

Well we would have wasted a year of Barba developing in the 6 IMO.

And we're back at the start... LOL

He has pretty much been playing in the 6 all year, as well as fullback. Still the better option, given he's still building a combination with Hunt in attack, which is not something you really need to do for the defensive side of things...

We aren't back at the start. Barba pretty much has not been playing the 6 all year. If that was the case Barba would have been doing a lot more kicking at the very least. The defense will be a huge issue for Barba if he ends up in the 6 which is another concern.

I believe Barba will be fullback next year and Milford at five-eight, Milford has a better passing, kicking and defensive game.

Yeah that is my opinion as well. Just stupid how they've got Barba to bulk up. I wonder what the though process behind that is.
