Yeah Josh should be embarrassed by how much better Tony was. I think it was only like the 3rd time the big dogs played in the halves.
People hate the 'drop Hoffman and promote a half" philosophy around here but even if our lower grade players aren't up for it, we have better stop gap options currently in the team.
Here are players in our team that I think could make better 5/8s than a Josh.
Barba, Reed, Hodges, Macca, Gillo, Glenn, Hannent, Moose, Granville, Steven Kearny, most the cheerleaders, the left corner post,
Admittedly Reed might be a stretch, though he had a good short kicking game. The rest I genuinely believe have more skills that'd translate to being a half than Hoffman, and a few of those would be far better in defence.
The whole situation reminds me of that quote about Ringo..
"is Hoffman the best 5/8 in the world?"
"He's not even the best 5/8 in the broncos"
