NEWS Judiciary: Live blog - Carrigan Four Week Suspension

McGuire tackle has been cited as the test case. He got 5 weeks.

6:12pm: After watching replays of Carrigan's tackle on Hastings, the hearing is shown the tackle by McGuire on Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr in round 10 of the 2021 season.
McGuire pleaded guilty to a grade three dangerous contact charge and was suspended for five matches.

6:07pm: Carrigan has entered a guilty plea.

The panel is told that the main evidence submitted to the hearing will comprise a 2020 memorandum by NRL head of football Graham Annesley warning of the dangers of hip drop tackles and an incident involving Dragons forward Josh McGuire last season.

I tell you what gets you more than Cleary’s: telling someone who’s trying to milk a penalty to “get up, you poof.” Two years ago no ref would’ve even blinked. Now it’s worse than a spear tackle.
That is different from dangerous tackles though that's behaviour related.

As far as im concerned a spear Tackle with intent is much worse then what Patty did by a country mile, the injury shouldn't matter.

Henry perenara who we had a shocking record under and who played for the storm. Then Dallas Johnson who played for the storm and cowboys hahahahaha

Ffs tou couldn't make this shit up. If they are going to pick ex players EVRRY club should be represented
They should have a 17 man panel for lols with one club legend from each.

Or you know, operate the fucking thing independent from the NRL. Have it run by actual lawyers who couldn't give a shit about the teams.

What’s in common is they’re trying to stamp out the behaviour by setting an example,

The BRL judiciary is better set up. Regularly there are 2-3 lawyers on there.

This is good news as McGuire had about 1000 priors to get that 5 week penalty.
Plus it was a shocking fucking tackle and he was the primary person in the tackle... it was a carbon copy hip drop.

Johnson was coached by Kevvie at the Catalans.

I'm not making the claim the players are biased (although hard not to be), I'm making the claim they're pretty fucking dumb. They shouldn't be running a quasi-legal system, they're not remotely qualified for that.

That moose tackle was a classic hip drop where he swung his body into JAC to drag him down.

let's play over/under

over/under ... the Judiciary will take 1 minute to deliberate
