Kahu has to goal kick

For a team that relies a lot on penalty kicks, it confuses me that this change hasn't happened.

Do you agree or disagree?

Disagree with that particular bit of reasoning. We're not taking penalty kicks from the sideline. Even Corey is knocking them over consistently in front of the sticks.

Kahu was good last night.......he's had his off moments as well, but he's probably the best we got to offer towards a change from Parker.

Keep in mind.....Kahu gets injured A LOT. Might not be on the field to take the kicks....so I don't think he's the answer long term.

Kahu getting injured a lot is still pretty irrelevant, if he gets injured we've got Parker & Milford as relatively decent secondary options.

You don't think it would be better to have an 8 point margin over 6?

Or the option of taking the two from more challenging places on the park to break a dead-lock?

I get what you mean, but since the Broncos treat points as a premium, than surely it's better to go with a more accurate goal-kicker?

I'm glad you raised the injury point as it's my major concern as well. Not because I'm worried we'd become over-reliant but because I'm concerned his body will be able to handle the extra work-load. It isn't uncommon to see players hand over the kicking duties if they're carrying an injury and it seems as if more often than not JK is affected in some way.

I don't think we should be locked in to kicker to be honest. I am all for Parker kicking early, Kahu kicking later in the game when fatigue has set in for Parker. I know people don't rate Parker, but he is our best kicker like it or not. He is as good as say Cam Smith and you don't hear the Storm fans calling for Smith to be dropped as the goal kicker.

Cam Smith used to be pretty average, like Parker was, but since last year he's improved a hell of a lot. I'd actually rate him as a good goal kicker now.

This year his record is 16/20 attempts, that's 80%, I think his record for last year was above 80% average as well.
Parker is at 66.66% (12/18) for this year, and we take plenty of penalty goals from right in front.

If I take out penalties, Parker is at 6/12, for a 50% record. Smith's record without penalties is 75% 12/16.

That's a small sample size, so it's not a truly accurate representation, but no doubt in my mind that Parker is not a good goal kicker, he just isn't and goal kicks are basically free points so if we have a better kick in the squad we should be using them, 2 points can decide a game.

develop mlford as a kicker he is that good, that if he knows he isnt good at something he will work before and after training to become a better conversion kicker, if milford can kick goals, field goals, set up tries and score them, that just develops his game even more

James Roberts is the best goal kicker at the club.

I heard we were looking at bringing back Lote Tuqiri as a goal kicking winger. We're all making shit up now right?

Agreed on Kahu.

In any other year, we could say that Inglis should be the kicker next year when he arrives, but given he can't even kick 1 point - not sure that's wise...

In the post-match conference:

Media: "Corey, any thoughts of giving over the kicking duties to Kahu?"
Parker: <pondering face>
Wayne: "That's my decision"
Media: "Well, have you had any thoughts..."
Wayne: "No, I haven't"

Guess we'll be seeing Corey lining up the kicks for the rest of the year when he's not subbed off

Bennett shot that reporter down pretty quickly
he basically told her this is my fucking team and I'll make the decisions not the fucking media

It's amazing that Kahu isn't the full time goal kicker. It just makes sense.

Parker is a stubborn old fool.

Bennett made it very obvious that it isn't Parker's decision to make.

Why doesn't Parker just put his hand up and say "my kicking is off and I'm going to step down from it" there's no shame

While we're all wanting Parker to move on from goal kicking, Kahu probably isn't a full time answer at this stage, his career % is actually lower than Parker's at the moment.

Not sure what to suggest, why can't there be a winger running around that's good at scoring tries, safe under the high ball and an 80%+ goal kicker. The only name that springs to mind is Kyle Feldt, from memory he was a really promising goal kicker in the younger grades / queensland cup.
