Kennedy, Release at season end? Yes or No?

If there's a chance to terminate Kennedy's contract, we have to goddam take it.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so not sure how that applies?

Hate to be the bearer of truth but a kilo of muscle weighs the same as a kilo of fat. Kennedy has plenty of muscle, just lacking in heart unfortunately.

It's often misquoted, muscle is more dense than fat, so a kilo of muscle takes up less space than a kilo of fat. In other words a 120kg guy with 10% body fat will be much leaner and have a smaller waist line than a 120kg guy with 30% body fat.

I wouldn't really call Ipswich as being in the country

It's much closer to, say, Toowoomba than it is to Brisbane in terms of lifestyle & demographic. I used to live there. It's kind of eerie, until you realise that they're precisely 20 years in the past, then everything makes sense.

It looks to me like it's all ticker as far as Kennedy is concerned.

He appears to be running like Tamou used too...crabbing across the field and never really taking on the line.

Tamou has since changed back to running straight (mostly) and is getting better results from it.

Kennedy just needs ti be told.

Matt Scott without a shirt on looks like a condom full of walnuts. He is massive. The 10 - 15kg can't come just from height, I reckon Scott would be pushing 112 kegs at least (he's been ~108kgs on the media guide for close to 6 years now).

Haha, that's a nice way of putting it.

thought kennedy was a country kid - wasnt that the rumour earlier in the year - that he wasnt gelling with teammates because he's a country bloke when all the broncos clique are off getting lattes and haircuts

i dont know what we need to get him to fire up. personally i think the whole pack needs more aggression. always thought someone like tallis should come on board to fire them up. tigers have done that with steve roach and its done wonders for their pack

Just saw this article, which confirms he was raised on farms.

Sydney Roosters prop Martin Kennedy a keen snake breeder | News.com.au

Raised on farms in northern NSW and Queensland, Kennedy even sought-out snakes under logs and debris.

Here are Kennedy's stats, compared to his Broncos colleagues:

Again, I know stats only get you so far, and he definitely needs more mongrel/aggression in his game, but he is also not the powder puff / pillow most people make him to be, as his meters p/run show (highest of any prop).
Judging by the above table, the only thing he needs to do, is improving the amount of runs he makes, possibly at the cost of the amount of tackling he does, which is the highest of any forward.

P.S. Hala has the best stats p/min, but he only played a total of 29 minutes so far this season, which makes his numbers statiscally irrelevant.

Come to think of it, just because you were raised in the country, doesn't mean you actually did any farm work. Snakes aren't exactly rodeo bulls.

I've met his dad, he comes across as a pretty strict bloke. But as you said, it doesn't mean he did any of the hard work.

I think he has all of the physical traits to be a great front rower.

I still believe that because of the new rule changes, his size is a massive disadvantage to him. The speed of the game requires more mobility, and he is not exactly the most mobile guy in the world.

Blokes like George Burgess, they seem to have a fair amount of mobility.

Maybe he should drop a few kilos or work on gaining some more mobility. I'm not too sure about that kind of subject, I'm not exactly an athlete myself.

He should still be able to make at least 10+ metres a hit up, but for some reason he just doesn't seem capable. Maybe he is still suffering psychology from the injuries?

Just my thoughts.

He makes the most meters per run of any Broncos Front rower, and very few people average 10+ mtrs per run in the comp, not even Matt Scott gets there.

Is anyone capable of this though? Does anyone?

Maybe 10 metres was a bit of a stretch. I've seen players do it before, not throughout the whole year, though.

You said from the start..."..I really don't know". That's exactly right ! You don't. Scott has had one notable game this year so now he's everybody's hero. You are so short sighted it makes me laugh

Ahhh at last a sensible comment. Someone with some depth to their thinking. Thank you.
