The mere fact people are willing to spend their time expressing their thoughts, whatever they may be, about this team shows they are passionate about it.

The best attribute of Smith/Slater/Cronk is their ability to be “on” every day, every week, for like 15 years. It’s freak level stuff. To get 3 in one team, let alone spine, is unheard of, and only remained intact by cheating.

For any other club, Bellamy burns them out every 2-3 years, needing a rebuild. Exactly like Maguire, exactly like Stuart. The Storm still do constantly rebuild, because the rest of the squad do get terminally burned out and leave, but with the spine intact and always peaking, the drop is less noticeable.

I don't really agree with the burning out theory. I think it's far more likely that clubs that sign players from Melbourne just overrate the players and throw more money than they are worth at them. A lot of these players that leave just aren't THAT good to be honest, they just look far better under Melbourne's far superior structures. You could put these "burnt out" players back in the Melbourne side, and they'd probably still go well.

Those are freaks. However, it isn’t freak level stuff that they are mostly on every week they play. It is because they really want to win. Something the rest of the competition players are pathetically lacking is the will to win.
When you’re being paid good money as a professional, you should be desperate to win. This is the problem. Most of them are overpaid. Plus, I wonder if the non-competitive push in junior sports that started about 20 years ago is now coming home to roost.

Plus I'd put on a bet that the Broncos will have a say in proceedings this year despite their current indifferent form. This talk of Bennett being sacked is laughable and even a bit irritating.

Yeah plenty hasn't gone our way . A few injuries, our attack coach leaves etc. hasn't been the perfect start to the year but by no means out of contention
