Surely Hodgson has to go this time???

Yes I thought he was disappointing all those goals he missed and those late challenges that lead to yellow cards and hence reservation when tackling by the backs for the rest of the game. :|

I think you guys are being a bit harsh on him with players out, only 2 strikers on the books, had you won you would have been in 5th or 6th spot, but it is always the coach who's to blame when losing and the players when they win the game

Honestly, it's not really the results that I think have most fans calling for his head..

It's one of several things:
  • His constant back and forth and cherry on top talks with the media. Talking up Everton, Smiling after the game even though we lost etc
  • His squad segregation of "Team A" and "Team B". Playing a bunch of youths against Northhampton, losing.. then blaming the players.
  • Konchesky, Poulsen. Removal of Insua (home grown, 21 year old LB with a truckload of potential), Much the same with Dalle Valle to Fulham. And although Raul is shining in midfield atm, Roy was adament the CM he bought was a right winger and played him as such until his hand was forced.
  • His negative tactics throughout season both home and away.
  • Like an above point, his treatment of our youth. Alienating Dani Pacheco (one of our stars)

All in all, I think Roy is NOT the person to take us forward in the long term and personally I think the sooner we take one step back so to speak, and put in place a new manager who can work with our youth development, make harsh calls (ie not being afraid to tell Stevie to sit in behind Torres and not in his favoured CM role, Carra dropped etc) we can take two steps forward.

Just bumping this thread above the peasants in the Barcelona and Brisbane Roar thread.

Nice one.

Solid win against Villa on Tuesday morning. Glad to see Maxi finally putting in some consistent performances. I reckon he could be a real asset. He's not flashy, but he's smart.

Of course, now we have to overcome our 'away' demons against hilarious as ever, Newcastle. Honestly, five year deal for Pardew? [icon_lol1.

The bastards will probably beat us as well.

The new manager system suggests they probably will

Aye, they'll win this one, then lose their next ten.

Pathetic.

He's gotta go ... Seriously

Yep, there's really no other option. He's not going to turn it around.

His overall away record during his career managing in England is absolutely horrid. He's won about ten away games. Not up to Liverpool standard.

No doubt Hodgson has to go he isn't good enough, not that his players are helping.

On another note, Reina was at least half at fault for Newcastle's second goal with a half commitment coming off his line. Can you keep honestly saying he is Spain's second best keeper? Valdes sh!ts all over him now and on recent La Liga seasons there is an argument to say he has become as good/better than Casillas.

Reina's fault?? ... right.

I would go as far to say that at least 4 of the people "defending" the set piece in front of him were at fault.

He came out at half pace, in that situation you either fly out or you stay on your line. He makes some fantastic saves but some of his decision making is questionable.

Sorry my apologies, i thought you meant hte first goal.. but regardless, the second.. Reina was obiously in a fucken mind boggle as to how the **** the ball got there in the first place. Liverpools defense was aboslute shambles.. Konchesky and Skrtel in particular. Konchesky for their first goal... amazingly retarted.

If anyone missed the call in show with the owners that was on this morning (Monday night England time), it's all available on the official site for free.

Yeah I watched first thing this morning. Nothing we didn't already know. Pretty much just reiterating what they have told the press since they first came in.

NESV seem like a very behind the scenes type organisation. Comolli is the perfect example, came out of nowhere. I hope this is much the same with majority of their stuff including transfers. My only concern is Roy..... they "believe in what he wants to do."

How long will he have ffs???
