I think all of u who are going on about Locky not being up to it or that he is playing poorly a freakin crazy. Put him behind a pack that actually makes some metres and with some backs that can catch the ball and run a line, and he'd be on fire. You can't lead when you're always going backwards. He's been carrying our half stinking broncos for years and the only time he gets to play real football is in s.o.o, because at least in those games he has a team that tries 100%.

You think any other 5/8 would be doing any better with the current broncos squad?

Then he came out and became the world's best player at 5/8th and captained the Broncos, Queensland and Australia all to glory in the one year. You've said numerous times since that he shouldn't be in the Queensland team and has stepped up to the mark every time since.

He's trying to say that Lockyer's current situation can be looked at in comparison with Carl Webb's.

You can't do that though. Lockyer is one of Queensland and Australia's greatest ever players, who has captained us to four straight series victories.

Carl Webb was a lazy fella who occasionally played like a machine in Origin.

Experience counts for a lot in Origin.

Now Rocky, can you see why he is a Halfback/Five-Eighth playing at fullback, and not an actual fullback? youre an absolute galah Rocky. sticking shane webcke in the number 1 jersey, after hes been playing prop for 5 years, out of necessity wouldnt have made him a fullback. he would be a prop playing at fullback. Yes, players can change positions over time - Lockyer is now a five-eighth and not a fullback. he couldnt play fullback to the level required anymore, and hasnt played there for 5+ years. Carney however, has played 2 games at Fullback, where he was only chosen because the club already had 2 very talented halves signed for the long haul, and were 'taking a chance' on Carney. He is a half playing in the fullback position purely to get him into the team. like when QLD would choose a centre on the wing/wing in the centre just to get the player on the field.

ningnangnong, no, you completely misinterpreted what i said about carl webb :roll: . i was purely pointing out that someone having lots of experience does not automatically mean that that person deserves a spot in the team more than someone with little to no experience. Carl Webb is one of QLDs most decorated forwards, regardless of how cr@p he is playing, and basically youre (or whoever it was) saying that he should be given a spot ahead of say Shillington or Taylor or someone PURELY because he has more experience. thats the reasoning for lockyer being given the spot - because hes more experienced. im just showing thats a stupid, stupid thing to say.

So to sum it up your saying that the position he plays the most in is what he is? So right now yes his a half playing a fullback role however if he plays out the next 1/2yrs at fullback he will be in your eyes a fullback?
