New Broncos fan. Obviously hasn't watched any of the 2009 season...

Funny that. Nobody watched Kemp in 2008.

At his best, Macca is the better hooker but at the moment that is not the case. Not saying drop Macca but he does need to improve. His service last year and pre-injury this year was very good, not sure what has happened. It must be Wallace's fault

Yet again we agree! [icon_lol1.

Though I can't see how you can say Macca is the better hooker when Hunt is showing so much more over the last 4 games. I don't think Macca's form has declined. I think Hunt is casting a bigger shadow and Macca is standing in it.

Sorry for my previous reply. Was outta line.

What I am saying is that McCullough showed his best form in 2009, particularly at the back end, and that form there is the best we have seen from any of our hookers over the last 2 seasons. However, I agree that AT THE MOMENT he needs to lift his game big time. I don't agree that his form has declined. At the moment he is nowhere near what we have seen from him at he start of the season.

Having said that, I don't think Hunt was outstanding tonight by any means. He wasn't bad, but not as good as previous weeks.

Except for our lack of structure in attack, tonight had enough positives to show we can win this competition. Even with Wallace

Wallace's influence will take us a long way towards winning this Premiership.

Long term I think we should be looking at a spine of

1. Hoffman
6. Norman
7. Hunt
9. McCullough
14. Baptiste

I honestly don't think Wallace has shown enough in Lockyer's absences to automatically get kept, he should have controlled the team tonight but failed miserably.

If tonight's game is the standard we're going off then McCullough and Norman should be no where near the team in the future.

I thought Hunt was worse than Macca tonight.

Agreed. Macca was good IMO. I don't know why it's so hard for some to admit it.

I would like to see Macca do some more kicking. In the first half he put in some nice kicks which turned out really good.

Hunt had a kick that lead to a try though.

Agree, both didn't have a great game, and the calls on here about McCullough's slow service out of dummy half was most evident last night, boy, it was like it was in slow motion. Hunt wasn't exactly slick either, and I actually remember a shocking pass he gave to Wallace when we were in good field position for one of Wallace's kicks.

the pass wasn't that bad. I can't believe the commentators made such a big deal of it. It was a little high but a halfback of Wallace's supposed quality should've had no trouble. And to then run 15 metres sideways and lose the ball...puh-lease.

The problem with both Macca and Hunt ATM is that neither looks dangerous, or particularly creative around the ruck. On this score, I feel Hunt shows more promise. If you use Ennis or Farah as benchmarks for their play close to the rucks, our boys need a lot of work.

They are still too much catchy passy as the stock plays from dummy half.

As well, neither have any really creative kicking game, which means we rely too much onLocky and Wallace. Another string to that bow would make our excellent attack even more lethal.

Of course they are both young. But it's getting time to step up.

Macca seems slow off the mark, do you think Hunt is faster of the two?

Obvious Wallace dropped it because he had Hunts bad pass on his mind still. icon_thumbs_u

This is too hard to try and pick one. I have seen some great games from both. I definitely think Macca plays better when Locky is on the field.

IMO if a good 6, 7 or 9 come on the market, the Broncos should seriously consider making a play for them.

ever since Wallace has been with us ive been trying to see what everyone on here supposedly saw, and other than a handful of games hes been Shane Perry MkII. i still think we shouldve kept tim smith, as that would not only give us a second option, it would force Wallace to get into gear.

McCullough and Hunt, well both have potential, but neither really seem capable or likely of being among the best in their positions. McCullough shows absolutely no sense of knowing when to run from dummy half or when to get a nice quick ball to the halves, he just picks the ball up then has a look and decides. you need to either pick it up and run, or pick it up and get it out in one clean motion - neither of which McCullough seems to be able to do.

Hunt, well maybe he will show us why people were raving about him when he gets more game time, but at this stage im not holding my breath.

the fact that those 3 guys were unable to lead the Broncos to putting away the woeful west tigers on the weekend speaks volumes IMO. they were shocking, and we had all the possession and field position, but between them they couldnt get the ball over the line.
