McCullough or Hunt?

If we could pick up a good half or hooker that would be superb. There isn't many of them on the market though. I'd be keen to give Macca and Hunt a bit more time they are only 20. Wallace really is pathetic, he plays games that are just awesome then others that aren't even up to QLD cup level.

AP I disagree re Tim Smith, it was not our choice to let him go, he had an offer and took it. IMO, if you guys think Wallace has been ordinary then Tim Smith has been cod awful.

Oh absolutely no doubt! Letting Smith go was no big deal at all. He was never going to be any good.

I know what you guys are saying about Wallace, but he will come back into form, I don't doubt it. You will all be saying get rid of him and then knowing our luck he will finally get into good form and we woudl've wished we never let him go. I think he's just too used to having Locky at his side and he's become complacent.

letting tim smith go shows that we have a halfback and hes got the job regardless of how poorly he plays. and thats the mentality that wallace looks like hes playing with.

keeping smith wouldve made wallace think 'hey, why did the broncos just get another halfback? maybe i actually have to do something to prove my worth?'.

Ivan busted his nut to keep Smith, problem was Smith didn't see himself getting a shot until origin or unless an injury striked. We didn't really let him go. He was offered a contract.

Broncos made Smith an offer. Sharks offered more.

Broncos weren't going to outbid because yes, got Wallace, and got Ben Hunt in the wings. No risk.

Smith has been absolutely horrible. Worst half in the comp. The Broncos (minimal) effort to retain him has been justified.

I agree.

I was gutted when he left as i thought (hoped) he might get a run in first grade for us sometime soon.

Man i'm glad my wish didn't come true [eusa_doh

hes playing for the sharks. remember, the team that at one stage was facing the worst losing streak by any team EVER? you cant expect him to be playing well with that team of retards around him.

That's a load of bs.
The Sharks have been a pretty solid team of late. At full strenght, only the Broncos and Dragons have beaten them in the past months, and by a relatively small margin. They were missing important players against the Dogs this weekend and still made a game of it.
Imagine if they actually had a quality half back!

the bulldogs are equally rubbish though, both teams have only won 5 games all season. one of those was one of the worst games of football ive ever seen, against the cowboys who are the only team with less wins than them.

the sharks are a bad team, full stop. even with johnathon thurston there theyd still be losing.

The more Ben Hunt plays the better he gets. Ivan robbed him of time on the field tonight IMO.

Was Hunt on with McCollough at the end or did Ivan pull off Hunt? Hunt was outstanding....

I am not 100% sure when Macca came on I assumed Hunt went off.

Macca has been very disappointing this season. He works hard but his passes are poor, slow and average. Hookers need a crisp passing game and macca hasn't shown that. Until he does, Hunt should be our first choice hooker.

I think the receipe is good for us atm. When Hunt comes in fresh, he immediatily puts the tiring oponent's defense on the back foot. That was very clear to me on tonight's game, with Hunt filling the impact player role perfectly.
Macca is desperately slow in movement and decision making, and Hunt makes him look even slower... If Hunt was able to get his defense right, he should become our 80 mins hooker IMO.
