Kevin Walters is someone that the fans and players will support as soon as he’s appointed as coach. It’s a simple choice really.
What does success look like now Pies has dismantled us?With Broncos fans, whoever comes in is going to need damn near instant success. they will turn on Kevvie if he doesn't get achieve it

Who is coaching this Rabbitohs team? We should bring them in!
We’ve never started from such a low baseline before. 21 if we win as many games as we lose that’s success and 22 need to be pushing for a title.same thing it always looks like for this club ... challenging for a top 4 position and a realistic shot for the title

Clean out all the coaching staff and bring Kevie, Cronk, Fitzgibbon, and Billy in
I don't really care about Walters history at Catalans at this point, he is needed in the job just to bring back some semblance of the old culture.
Jesus Christ. This isn't hard. Pick Walters as a casual worker. 12 months, if we like it we offer you fulltime. One things certain. If they do that the Broncos will get a free pass for at least half of 21. The fans, old boys and media will all be temporarily appeased. Memberships will immediately be renewed, gate receipts straight back up, favourable media coverage straight away, players suddenly happier, it's a fucking win win. Not my first choice, that'd be Gentle with Flanagan as assistant for 21, Flanagan as head coach in 22 but still, 2021 would be instantly a winner.
Not sure Fittler's opinion is really worth bothering with. He was a thoroughly underwhelming Club Coach and as an Origin Coach he came within a minute of bottling the series last year despite having a vastly superior team at his disposal.Having a laugh at Fittler saying Kevvie's not right for the job ... he's probably peein' his pants at the thought of Bennett taking on the Maroons gig and handing him the biggest can of Whoop-ass in history

Refusing to pick Walters because of the old boys would also be giving them a level of control they shouldn't have. If we take for granted the argument their opinion is of no value, we should still end up choosing Walters anyway as he's the contender most likely to rebuild the club's winning culture.Walters appt would be pandering to the old boys, giving them even more power than they currently have, though they should have none.
