Meantime in Balmain, Campbeltown & Concord, Tim Sheens is standing by Madge..

Think the Dogs are going to be tough to beat. If they get up, I make plenty. Also, took the Cows 13+ 50 times. Paid $8 a time. Nice.

Also Dogs just scored first 90 seconds! Loving it.

Barnett hit with a 6 match ban.

He got lucky, to be honest. I was expecting it to be 6 weeks based on similar suspensions for similar incidents. But he should have got more. 8 weeks minimum.

Barnett's reasoning was he didn't see the player until the last second and he was trying to get around him.

What a big pile of shit.

HE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!

so in order to protect referee incompetence, the NRL are saying that players who concede a penalty in order to stop play in order to challenge a referee no call/play on call, will be sin-binned without being allowed to use their captain's challenge

last weekend Damian Cook held a Panthers player down and was permitted to challenge a play on call by the ref.

Turpin wasn't so lucky

Also known as the Reactive-Brisbane-Did-It-So-Change-It Principle.

Annersley's excuse is that it may lead to players repeatedly doing the same thing in order to continue challenging ref decisions. It seems even he is oblivious to the fact that if you get one wrong, you have no more challenges for the match. So a team successfully continuing to challenge would mean that the ref is getting wrong every time...

why do you think he doesn't want players to do it

Also if you get it wrong you're off to the bin... refs have flagged it several times already, and even last year I believe, that if you deliberately give away a penalty in order to challenge and the challenge is incorrect you're off to the bin.

There is literally no reason to change the rule from what it currently is.

I'm watching Xavier Savage (Ithink his name is) running around in the FB position for the Raiders NSW cup team. He'd be a player I'd make a play for as he's currently stuck behind Klokstad.

Hayze Perham looks quality as well for the Eels. Good thing with Savage is he is a Queenslander.

I don’t think he’ll be stuck for long either way and he’s always named 18th man. They have a decision to make next season with both off contract for 24
