If you're a Sharks fan you have gotta be sitting there last night saying "Yip, our new coach is the real deal and could end up being the next Bellyache/Robinson".

The turnaround in the Shark's performances in the first few rounds has been nothing short of remarkable.

I have to say, I'm fairly jealous of the way they are going at present. Nicho Hynes has certainly continued his great form since leaving the Storm too.

The sole reason he’s in the UK is because he was invited over and into a job. To have that all set up for you and then in a matter of weeks drop your employer for a totally different gig seems fairly underhanded to me.
You might see that as acceptable and normal.

if we all agreed on everything this forum would be a dull echo chamber, but being honest, I can’t for the life of me see how you are able to brush over the fact if Eddie Jones had not invited him over with the promise of work he wouldn’t be there.

You know your assistants could get offered a job and might take it. Generally speaking you don't stand in their way. It happens to ISC coaches all the time- get assistant coaching jobs in the NRL- no one has ever said see out your contract here.

Norths lost their coach this week because he got a SL head role.

I think Norths is quite a different matter. He was not flown over to the UK to take up an entirely different post. Smith was following an excepted career path and I'm sure the club was pleased for him.

Siebold, on the other hand was flown over there at the invitation of Eddie Jones and the first chance he gets he jumps ship. if I was Eddie I'd be quietly fuming at Siebold's ambivalence.

He and Eddie Jones appear to be quite tight. The whole arrangement might be premised on an understanding that if he got the offer of a head coach position he was free to take it. I think the whole thing with Jones was him helping Seibold out to try and rehabilitate his career (much like AOB did with Newcastle). I know we all hate Seibold, but it says something that he has people willing to back him when he was at his lowest.

Nathan Stapleton (ex-Sharks, Roosters) is a quadriplegic after a rugby union game. Poor bastard.

Can't remember if this is the same guy who complained his leg went black after being given peptides from Stephen Dank.
Such a shame... I always liked Stapleton.

He had bright sparks every now and then and looked like he could be a good fullback / five eight for them... but then I think he had a few injuries or had some shockers and then eventually got shuffled further and further down the depth.

I think the one you're thinking of is the one that threatened to sue them??

Ended up working in the mines because he couldn't get another gig in NRL and then started talking about suing.

Think he was a winger / fullback

EDIT Isaac Gordon is the one I'm thinking of

Still think its weird when you dont see Wigan in red even though its Saints colour as well.

just wondering if people still rate Holbrook as a coach. in to his 3rd season on the coast now

I think he is a decent coach, but he is getting everything wrong at the moment.

What exactly? Their on field performances basically match what is to be expected by their roster. Is there something deeper afoot ?

I wonder how much input he has into recruitment or is it all on Mal.

They have an extremely young team and the spine is really struggling at the moment.

Going to be hard for them to turn it around in the short term, because they've gone all in on Sexton, Brimson and Campbell... I think Fifita should be expecting a pay cut in his next contract negotiations as well... $750k seems closer to the mark.

I reckon titans would be keen to release Brimson.... I think he was signed to his long contract before Campbell emerged so they quite quickly ended up with two long term fullbacks and had to figure out how to fit them in.

Unfortunately for titans I don't think Brimson wants to leave. If I recall correctly he didn't really sign for a whole lot of money, but was still happen to go with 4-5yrs.

Tino as captain at 22 seems waaaay too quick, but they let their other captain option head to Canberra.
