Slater has declined a bit in the last couple of years or so. He is still a very good player, I thought he played well and was dangerous against the Dragons when he found his mojo but he just doesn't seem like he has the impact like he used to. I don't think he has been the best fullback in the comp since 2012 or so, I personally thought that Inglis, Hayne and RTS had better seasons then him in 2013, 2014 and 2015 respectively. Hayne dominated him in the 2014 Origin series and I thought Dugan was the better fullback of the 2 in Games 1 and 2 last year.

It will still be very disappointing if Slater was forced into retirement. He is one of the all time great fullbacks and deserves to go out on his own terms.

I'd feel much better with Inglis & Chambers in the Centres, in comparison to Gagai & Chambers. Boyd at Fullback is probably our best option.

Gagai will likely get the gig as he's been solid in Origin but his defence with Uate on the weekend was fucking disgraceful. I can't remember a more embarrassing defensive effort.

Be interesting to see if Boyd will be able to score tries in Origin at fullback without being carried by Inglis. Seriously speaking though if Boyd maintains his form it wouldn't be a bad selection.
