It doesn't help they come up against sides they notoriously struggle with. The fact they have to do it on the road doesn't help either and the only saving grace is that those teams aren't in great shape themselves.

It will be very interesting, especially if the Storm start the season as slowly as they did last year. They may have been winning games, but they weren't playing good footy.

Hampton is a big loss if you factor in Slater & Green being out / gone, if they had him they could've just slotted him in at Five-Eighth with Munster retaining his Fullback role.

I take your point, but I disagree.

Hampton was only ever useful as a utility where he had one instruction 'run the ball'. As a half he never seemed sure of himself and would constantly come up with the wrong decision. Bellamy saved himself a lot of headaches by making the call and letting Ben return home.

I wouldn't mention him along the lines of Koroibete, Green and Proctor. They were integral members of their 2015-16 side, Hampton was a bench utility who had his moments both good and bad.

I'm mentioning them in the same sentence because they were all consistently in the Storm's top 17 over the last couple of years, I'm not mentioning them in the same sentence because I think they're equally as valuable players lol.

I'm well aware Koroibete, Green & Proctor were all far more influential players for them.

I get why, but just because he was a constant member of the 17 doesn't mean he'll be a 'big loss' for the club. In fact, the club could be better off for losing him and giving another player like a Brodie Croft or Jake Turpin a shot.

It's just one of those quirks that pops up every now and then when people get greedy and throw in an extra player to make the situation sound more severe than it really is. Instead of nodding along, I feel like slamming the brakes and being like wait, is this player really that big a loss? Essentially it loses it's potency and creates silly tangents like this.

Otherwise, yeah Melbourne could struggle. Ordinarily if any other team was in the Storm's situation I'd have them 0-2 but let's face it, it's Melbourne. They've got enough class there in Bromwich, Smith, Cronk and Chambers to conjure up points and I'm sure they'll pluck some rookie like Stimson from their ranks and he'll do the job for them.

If I'm understanding the new rule regarding team lists correctly, they can't name players in the 17 that have a chance of not playing.
