Can anyone see the Rabbitohs limiting Crichtons minutes to slow down any development as they are not in the playoff position? Personally, I feel like they won't as they want to give themselves every chance to win.

The Rabbitohs need to make up for the past couple of seasons.

I imagine they won't be pulling any shit like that.

You might remember, didn't a while back a club threaten to do something similar?

Is there any rule on how much a TPA can contribute to a contract with a club?

For instance say the Broncos decide to chase Cam Munster and offer him $1.2 million a season. But TPA's make up $600,000. So the Broncos are only actually paying him $600,000. Is that legit?

And to make it utterly ridiculous, say TPA's make up $1.1 m and the Broncos only register $100,000 to the salary cap. Is there anything to stop such a scenario from happening?

If the TPA's are organized by the club, they are counted towards the cap so if the Broncos offer him $1.2 million then all of that has to be counted towards the cap.

It's only when the TPA's are organized by the player or manager themselves they are not counted towards the cap. And those TPA's must not include anyone affiliated with the club.

The last scenario you mentioned, the NRL stops that from happening.

I thought clubs couldn't organise TPA's? The players have to source them themselves. Isn't that what nearly messed up Maloney's move to Penrith when he said he was waiting on the club to organise the TPA.

Club's can organize TPA's but those are the TPA's that are counted towards the cap. Players can only earn a limited amount when they are organized by the club or the TPA's include club sponsors or they wear club colours.

A player can earn an unlimited amount in TPA's, but they must be sourced by the player or manager and they must not include anyone that is affiliated with the club in an official capacity and must not wear club colours. These TPA's are not counted towards the cap.

Milford has a TPA with some tyre company for example. There's a sign between Ipswich and Aratula with him on it, not wearing club colours or anything.

Milford must also have a TPA with the Ipswich City Council ... the have named a street after him :P

"We run our salary cap better than most clubs. We don't back-end contracts, we don't put in ratchet clauses that stymie some clubs,'' Politis told The Sydney Morning Herald.

''We don't have many third-party agreements. We make some hard calls. We don't always get it right but we correct them quickly.''

Absolute rubbish.

How can they be under the cap with no back-ended contracts or hardly using TPA's with the roster they have?

I liked the line where he said they plan their recruitment five years in advance. So five years ago, their plan was to dump Pearce for Cronk? Please.

Apparently Brenko Lee signed with the Titans today.
