Tim Grant has been released by Penrith.

Gus releasing high profile players is my only criticisim of his work at Penrith, everything else has been exceptional.

I think there is a 70% chance that the NRL won't register his contract if he has signed with the Roosters. I am hoping that's exactly what they do. Send a message to all of the fucktards giving the game a bad name.

More like there's a 90% chance that the NRL will register his contract if he signs with the Roosters. There's probably a 70% chance they won't register it if he signs with any other club.

@brentread_7: Could be some big news at Souths concerning Ben Te'o. Read full story in The Oz tomorrow

@brentread_7: For the record, Te'o is not going back to Brisbane. European rugby union circling.

I'd prefer McQueen leaving purely for QLD's sake, but Te'o works too, less back rowers to overfill the side with for QLD.

So Benji Marshall has said he is quitting Union and wants his manager to find him a Rugby League team. Is there a chance he could come to us? I'm not saying I want him here by the way.

Reports suggest he is being chased by Salford.

I don't think Benji will come back to NRL. I think the only reason he went to union is because he didn't want to play against the Tigers and clubs in England weren't making any offers at the time.

We'd be silly not to offer him a deal to finish the year with possible extension. Although, Warriors could make a play for him. Only other team than us & Warriors in desperate need of 5/8 would be Melbourne.

Tigers close the door on Marshall return

You can rule out the Tigers.

You could rule out several other clubs.

Manly, Titans, Roosters, Souths, Bulldogs, Warriors, Storm.

I think you can rule out the Cowboys, as well.

Other clubs, I'm not sure of. You could probably add Panthers to that list, but Gus loves Benji.

Glenn Stewart to the Rabbits on a two year deal.

There goes our chances of getting DCE.

The fact that the Raiders didn't sign him is interesting. Do they expect they'll need the money for Milford so couldn't trump the Rabbit's offer? Or did Glenn just feel be had a better chance of success with Souths?

I dont think stewart wanted to leave sydney.

And yes with this signing our chances of signing DCE have moved from 0% to 0%

In good news, Foran was one of the people who was adamant about wanting G.Stewart re-signed, might be an opening for us.

Also, lol @ Souths pack for next season.

8. Grant
9. Luke
10. G.Burgess
11. McQueen
12. Te'o
13. G.Stewart

I doubt Teo will be there next year

True, well I guess they'll just throw Sutton in the back row and have Keary/A.Reynolds in the halves, not a big loss. They're going to be super hard to beat next year.

Sutton's been shithouse in the back row. He might be a big boy, and he might be able to charge at the line and break tackles, but he doesn't have the stamina. Not that anyone expected to be able to handle 80 minutes in the forwards, but in his time there he had very little impact and was often interchanged on deaths's door. Having him there also meant that they were down one workhorse forward, which added to their woes.

The positive is that it may make rethink their Keary/Reynolds/Sutton in the #6/#7/#13 jerseys, meaning Keary might be an option should we lose out on Milf.
