NRL Player Movements and Rumours 2015

I think $500k a year for Sezer is a bargain in this day and age..

Barba $800k
Sandow $550k
Norman $500k

He's way better than these 3.

Tim Gavel has just stated they've agreed to terms but the contract is still to be signed and of course there's the round 13 clause, if he does sign it's by far our best spine since the glory days.

Like all halves theyre going to need the props to do their job, but if they do exciting times ahead for us long suffering Raiders fans.

Yeah and bargain is also relative, $500k for the Broncos maybe not a bargain, for the Raiders its huge.

Still cant cant believe the Sharks bought Barba off you guys for that much:laugh:

Isn't that Milford though, enigmatic with a limited skill set, both good runners Milf uses acceleration while Austin strength, reminiscent of Campo in his prime, quicker but without the massive boot.

Biased but it looks a well balanced halves combo, one organiser who has a good long and short kicking game while the other is enigmatic ball runner. Our best halves combo since Stuart and Daley. Austins kicking game needs work but with Hodgson having a good boot on him it's not essential. Our 5th tackle option has needed a kick up its ass for ages and it's something Sezer does well.

Only took you 14 posts to play the Milford card.

Milford has a stronger skill-set and has more upside than Austin. He's also got a natural halfback partnering him in Ben Hunt and their combination is developing with every game.

Austin couldn't nail down a halves spot in the juniors and would often play lock for Penrith in the 20s. To even compare them is bit of a joke but you've convinced yourself that they're this you-beaut halves pairing without playing a single game together so it's clear that I'm just raining on your parade.

Haha was just stirring mate and no idea how they'll go together but on paper it does look better balanced (not individually as good) than BHunt and Milford as neither is an organiser, they are getting better as a combo. On individual form Austin is ahead of Milf at the moment (won't say how long that'll last though as waiting for Milf to have his break out game for you guys which is inevitable).

Well Milford just outplayed the Titans No. 6, whoever that is, so it'll be good to see how good a 'break-out' performance will be.

Touché

I still wouldn't call that a break out game though, he scored two tries but they weren't "his" tries, still waiting to see the magic he produced last year.

Sezer and Austin sounds better on paper than Milford and Hunt? Maybe if we're talking about stupid haircuts.
I did say appears better balanced but noted not individually.BHunt and Milf should be better as both better players but if you were designing a halves pairing you would pick an organiser with a good boot with a running partner.

It was all about balance, you misinterpreted what I meant.

Just to get it away from a Brisbane v Canberra agenda for a second...

My problem is that I see Austin and Sezer as natural five eighths. Sure, they're on opposite sides of the five eighth spectrum, but 6s none the less. I don't think either can play halfback and so when things inevitably get rough I can see things being broken up quite quickly and Austin being toyed as a centre or utility type and it will just end in tears.

Maybe I'm wrong and they go onto make Canberra a Top 4 side.

But I highly doubt it.

And I guess it just goes back to the Blake Austin signing. I always saw Austin as a stop-gap player who can be handy on his day but nothing more. So far, that's all I've seen out of him for the Raiders and for Canberra to offer him a 3 year deal seems very near-sighted.

Again, could be wrong but that's on the side of the fence I'm on. Raiders will never finish Top 4 with Austin/Sezer as their halves.

Isn't Cornish meant to be good or something, what's going on with him

See disagree about Sezer, he's more a halfback who just happens to be wearing the 6, he's an organiser, good boot and passing game as was said earlier imitating Hodkinson/Reynolds, a natural halfback.

Austin was Tigers best last year and reminds me of Campo in his prime, strong, passionate with a good running game.

ps didn't mean to do Canberra Broncos, part was misinterpreted (better balanced doesn't mean better in reality) plus I couldn't resist when you said didn't like enigmatic ball runners with limited skill set, if you hang cheese in front of a mouse he'll grab it:laugh:

It's a tough call I think but it's one of the more positive signings they've made in recent times imo. Whether he's paired with Austin for the long term remains to be seen.

Not kicking on as many young halves have that problem (not given much time to either) plus if you look at Ricky's history he has a shocking record with developing young halves, Sezers only 23 but is already pretty developed in a halfbacks game.

I knew where you were going with it but wasn't prepared to see you sink so low to bag out a former player.

Tony is a special player and your club certainly thought more of him than Mr Consolation Prize himself, Austin. :001_tt2:

But of course, no hard feelings and all the best against Melbourne - my tips are riding on it!

It's not a bargain and using 3 shit halves that got massive, massive offers from shit coaches that were desperate does not change anything

250k would be a fair price for sezer

Yeah the consolation prize ended up well for us, if we had kept Milf I don't think the overall balance of the team would've been as good, would we have been able to sign Hodgson for example, Hodgson and Austin a better combo than Milf and Buttriss, throw in Sezer, Soliola, Whitehead, Waqa, keeping Milf could've killed us in the long term so in hindsight worked out well for both clubs IMO.

Weve got a good record against the Storm so it's not a bad tip I'm just worried how Williams will respond to the Sezer news, my biggest hope is Ricky's doing a smokescreen and we'll see Page debut. (Not jumping on the youtube bandwagon I've been calling for him to play since last year).

PS Saw your signings thread and keep your hands off him:laugh:

Me too ........one half decent game last week and he's NSW next 5/8.

So typical of Canberra players to be quickly over rated like this.
It's the latest RL "expert's" kitschy thing to do.
