i don't think so ... the Titans will need a bit more time to pass before they can fit him under their cap. I did laugh though when the Courier Mail stated that the Titans are the only club who can afford to fit Smith under their cap.
this despite just having signed Fifita to $1.25 million a season, Tino also wouldn't have come cheap and they have Ash Taylor on $1 million a season as well.
todays speculation came because he kicked a footy around a park on the GC

We should be targeting every star off contract, not actually making an offer, just letting agents know we are considering offering X amount of dollars and push all these players' prices up like everyone does to us.

if one of the changes the NRL are considering comes in, this will be a thing of the past ... although since it is a good change, i'm not holding my breath that it will be introduced.
the change they are considering FYI will be a central database (of sorts), where any offers made to the player must be entered. these offers would be visible to the clubs bidding for the player. so it would stop a player agent from telling club x that club y offered a certain value, if that club didn't make the offer ... if that makes sense

Yeah no way that happens... RLPA and player manager lobbyists will kick up a stink about privacy and all that bullshit.
Clearly a reactive move following on from the dragons calling up eels saying they have no interest in Brown despite what the manager says.
It would also only be formal offers... I'd imagine a lot of the negotiations happen through discussions and a team typically only puts a formal bid in when everything is pretty well sorted out.
Also would the NRL salary cap do any sort of vetting of offers that come through... for example back when we re-signed Milf, if the storm put in an offer of $1m for Milf (to see if the Broncos would flinch), does anyone confirm that it is feasible from their cap perspective and are the storm then legally bound to the offer if Milf jumps at it.... or can they say "nah things change, but we'll give you $500k now that you've publicly said you'll be coming to us and burnt that bridge"

I'm happy to see PPR land on his feet.
While he was one of several ex-players Seibold signed that made me question his recruitment, PPR was a genuine prospect coming through the grades at Melbourne. Bennett signed him and he was apart of their really strong 2014 NYC team but then he seemingly went off the rails and fell off the radar. He resurfaced at the Devils and while I thought the Broncos development deal was premature, I'm glad he's taken the opportunity with both hands and got himself a job out of it.
