Alex Glenn - 8 Games, 0 Tries, 0 Line-Breaks, 0 Offloads, 31.75 Avg Tackles, 2.38 Missed, 65.63 Avg Metres

Could certainly make that argument, Glenn had a shocking year. Still think there's better players out there than Putt.
I'm not sure we're being fair on Lexy using his current year either. Maybe we should have compared 2019 figures.

I'm thinking there are quite a few 2nd rowers out there who would be a far better choice, but none of the guys I'm thinking of are currently available. Do you know of any that we might be able to snag?

Those really are terrible stats, even more so by your captain. Yes he was injured a lot but even so, how do you fire up your team when you are producing rubbish like that?

Capewell looked good the other night, surely the panthers will have to let him go next season. The cap crunch is coming for them

I thought he had some strong carries, but he did drop the ball on a number of occasions which killed the Panther's momentum. if he managed to improve his ball security he might be worth looking at, but I think this is why he has moved around clubs. He certainly is a strong bugger.

Might have something to do with not playing all season? I’ve always liked him and he’s certainly a lot better then Glenn

Panthers retention policy over the next 12-18 months will be interesting to watch.

Hetherington, Aekins and Tamou already gone, looks like Burton on his way out and Fox reporting that Naden's contract wont be renewed either.

They really need to invest in getting an ultra rich Chairman who is also hopelessly unlucky at Golf.

I think he was great for Norths. Competes for everything, which i think we lack. I think he would come on leaps and bounds in a full time NRL system like Olam has. I agree there are better players, but they arent available to us right now. Like I said, I dont see the harm in giving blokes like him and Grant 12 month deals

I'd take Naden in a heartbeat.

Yep, likewise. Problem is he's young and still relatively inexperienced. I think there will be a few other clubs circling for his signature and I'm not sure it's in our interests to be the highest bidder given our other priorities.

We're better off doing all we can to keep Staggs.

Barrett rumoured to be interested in Naden at the Bulldogs.

but imagine a Staggs, Naden center pairing ... it would be the most damaging in the league.

If the Dogs land all of Cotric, Hetherington, Burton, Flanagan and Naden, Barrett has done amazingly well and they legit become a top 8 side next year.

Their biggest weakness is their backs and halves. If he does land those signatures they are well and truly a top 8 side.

I'd love to sign someone like Naden on a similar deal to what the Tigers are proposing. He gets a shot at fullback, if he plays X amount of games there he gets fullback money, if gets shuffled out of there, he gets centre money.

It is concerning that other clubs are getting stuff done while we just sit on our hands and do nothing.

I'm probably dreaming but I'm hoping the club is clearing decks to make a play for B. Smith.

Even in the Queensland Cup you've got Patrick Kaufusi, Brendan Frei, Temone Power, Kalani Going, Hayden Schwass etc.

Keep in mind too, Putt is a 175cm edge forward with suspect defence and poor discipline. I don't see any upside, a solid Qld Cup player who works in Smith's system but not exactly somebody that you bring into an NRL system.

Especially with a view of only having him here for 12 months. It took Olam years and he stood out a lot more than Putt has.

I don't mind the Grant suggestion because he is a stand-out and he's somebody who should be in an NRL system. If Covid didn't happen, he most likely would have picked up a deal somewhere and been a really handy player to have had off the bench.

The Broncos do need to be careful with the amount of Queensland Cup players they sign. Yes, Melbourne have had some tremendous success but they've had 18 seasons to get that system in place and get the balance right. The Broncos completely destroyed that balance under their old regime and they need to prioritise a few NRL signings.

Otherwise it just ends up becoming a Newcastle 2016 situation where Brown recruited reserve grade players and got reserve grade performances.

Dont forget they're now apparently favourites for JAC too. If I were them I would give up DWZ without a second thought to make that happen.

Biggest issue I see for them is hooker as neither JMK or S Katoa are any good. Assuming Cotric has been promised the #1 jersey I see their best (all fit and pending signings) line up as:
1. Cotric
2. Okunbur
3. Averillo
4. Hopoate
5. JAC
6. Burton
7. Flanagan
8. Napa
9. JMK
10. Hetherington
11. Faitala-Mariner
12. Jackson
13. Thompson

Other forwards: To'omaga, Elliott, Waddell, Ogden, Stimson, Katoa, Britt, Doorey.
Other backs: Green, Lewis, Wakeham, Okunbur, Reimis, Crichton, Meaney

Won't shock me if they offload a half or two and try to free up cap space for a better quality 9.
