NRL Players and family members in hot water

I don't give a shit if she was sober or drunk off her ass ... IF she didn't give consent that is rape to other word to describe it and it is 10000% the fault of the scumbag pervert that did it.

Fucking this.

I keep trying to think of it from her father’s perspective and while I’d always want to take vengeance on the bloke, I’d seriously be blaming myself for not teaching my daughter about the dangers of the real world and the simple steps to ensure that you didn’t put yourself in compromising situations. If, indeed I had taught her that, I’d be fucking filthy at her, all while conflictingly sympathetic to her experiences.

Either way, I hope there’s some evidence otherwise Hayne will be the one suing for damage to his brand.

If i was her father, i would hunt Hayne to the ends of the earth and when i found him ... well let's just say that i would have my trusty cricket bat with me and i would be using his balls for batting practice

I’m doubting whether she was raped at all. Moreso buyers remorse as was pointed out earlier.

Certainly a possibility, but not what I am taking issue with.

The point is the contempt with which women making accusations are treated, and thinly veiled insinuations such as 'either way they only have themselves to blame' and 'consequences in a public venue'...we are talking about rape accusations, either he's ignorant or deliberately stupid. Not that I expect better from a Trump apologist.

Or comparing having shit stolen from you to being raped..honestly.

I'll repeat just in case anybody wants to have a dig;

So in essence what you are saying is if a woman is raped, and she was drunk, a portion of the blame for being raped is on her for being drunk?

It's like because Hayne is a wanker, he's instantly guilty.

Well one article has been read and some have instantly decided this woman is a slut, liar or bought it on herself; so seems fair.

This is where shit gets real tricky. It’s never a women’s fault for being raped. That is simple. Where it gets tricky is humans are merely animals, albeit mostly civilised. Mostly. Unfortunately women have to contemplate the risks of running into uncivilised men who don’t even need a women’s drunkenness as an excuse. How is a women supposed to protect herself? I don’t know as a man. My guess is to live in a confined existence where risks are heavily mitigated, which is what I was getting at earlier.

So as a society we don’t condemn and put 100% of the blame on the scumbags that rape, we say she should have been safely indoors to avoid the rape? What about people that are raped during break and enters? Her fault for not sewing her orifices shut?

Yeah it's like they're could be,like, two sides to a story.

Mind. Officially. Fucking. Blown.

And who has said Hayne is guilty in this thread?

Or have some people taken issue with piss poor apologist language like 'either way it's their own fault' (talking about intoxicated women and their social repercussions).

How is saying a person is a rapist better than questioning the credibility of the victim though?

To be clear, I believe what I believe based on nothing but assumption. The suggestion that a rape victim would be to blame is certainly not something I agree with.

A YOUNG woman who accused Aussie NRL superstar Jarryd Hayne of rape, claims to be in possession of bombshell evidence which she says could be used for testing.
The woman, known only as “Ms V”, says she took Jarryd Hayne’s “undergarment” as proof of the alleged assault for police to test in the future.
Explosive court documents viewed by news.com.au allege that in December, 2015, the woman woke up in bloodied sheets and “was in shock and wanted to leave”.
“She quickly decided that if she reported to the police she would need some kind of proof and took [Hayne’s] undergarment in case there was need for testing,” the court documents allege.
Hayne has unequivocally and vehemently denied the claims.
His Sydney-based lawyer Ramy Qutami of Madison Marcus Law Firm has put out a statement this afternoon stating: “Mr Hayne and his management are aware of recent media speculation in relation to a civil complaint filed in the United States of America making certain allegations in relation to an event which allegedly occurred in 2015 while playing for the San Francisco 49ers.”
“Mr Hayne has not been served with any proceedings or formal complaint relating to the incident.
“Mr Hayne previously addressed a complaint made to the District Attorney’s office in the County of Santa Clara, California in 2016 and the District Attorney did not proceed any further with the matter due to insufficient evidence to substantiate the allegations. Mr Hayne provided all reasonable assistance to the District Attorney with that investigation.
“Mr Hayne unequivocally and vehemently denies the allegations which are the subject of the civil complaint.
“Mr Hayne will not be making any further comment in relation to this matter.”
It’s understood Hayne was on a flight to Israel today as the news broke.
The NRL is not moving to stand Hayne down following the accusations he raped a woman during his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers.
An NRL spokesman has told NRL.com the league is unlikely to ban Hayne, but will review the accusations against the Parramatta star as part of its own investigation.
“We note that the police in the United States did not proceed with any criminal proceedings but we will review the information available and continue to monitor the civil case,” the spokesman said.
Parramatta chairman Max Donnelly released a statement on Wednesday afternoon declaring the club was unaware of the accusations against Hayne before reports surfaced on Wednesday morning.
The Eels signed Hayne only last month after he walked out on the Gold Coast Titans with one season still to run on his contract.
“The club has been made aware of serious allegations regarding Jarryd Hayne during his time with the San Francisco 49ers,” Donnelly said.

“We were unaware of these allegations until they were made public today.
“As with any legal matter, it is important that we follow due process and ensure that we review all relevant information available, including giving Jarryd the opportunity to respond.
“The club will continue to monitor the situation and when appropriate we will provide an update to members and media.”
Hayne has been accused of nonconsensual sexual intercourse on December 21, 2015, in a civil suit filed in California’s Santa Clara County on Wednesday (AEST).
It comes as reports from American media indicate Hayne’s legal representatives will be summoned for a case management conference with a judge and his accuser’s legal team on April 10.
According to court documents, the woman was “heavily intoxicated” after proceeding from the 49ers game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Levi’s Stadium to a San Jose bar with a group of friends. Hayne met up with the group before taking the woman back to his San Jose home in an Uber.
“Mr Hayne brought our client back to his home, approached her in the dark, turned her around as to not face him and told her ‘no kissing’,” lawyer John Clune said in a statement provided to news.com.au.
“He then had nonconsensual sexual intercourse with her, causing her significant physical pain.”
According to court documents, the victim was a virgin and suffered continued vaginal pain as a result of the incident. She was reluctant to come forward but made the claims to police in May 2016.
The San Jose Police Department investigated the matter and asked the woman to attempt to get Hayne to incriminate himself, the court documents state. But the District Attorney decided there was not enough evidence to proceed with a criminal case.

THE COURT DOCUMENTS
The civil suit alleges Hayne took the heavily intoxicated young woman home from a bar in an Uber and she was then sexually assaulted after being told “no kissing”.
The suit contains four complaints against Hayne including sexual battery, gender violence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Court documents obtained by news.com.au allege a friend of Hayne’s had been texting and messaging the woman via social media to find out where they were drinking before he turned up to join her and others.
It was in the early hours of the Monday morning that the alleged sexual assault took place at Hayne’s San Jose apartment, the documents say
The young woman claims she passed out in the Uber due to her “extreme level of intoxication”.
She then had “no recollection of how she got into [Hayne’s] home other than faint recollections of an elevator and moving down a hallway”, the court documents allege.
Her next memory, according to the documents “was being in a bedroom and seeing a silhouette of a man with [Hayne’s] build coming towards her.
“The man put his hands on her shoulders and flipped her around so she was no longer facing him.
“The man instructed ‘no kissing’ and shortly thereafter she felt extremely sharp pain in her vagina.
“When the man spoke she recognised his voice as that of [Hayne].
“Her last memories were falling face down on the bed, seeing a light from the hallway, and the continued sharp vaginal pain.
“The next morning [the woman] awoke in the same room and in the same bed. She was naked, draped in a single sheet, and still in significant vaginal pain.”
The young woman was afterwards “in shock and ... fearful of calling the police”.
She “had heard of many cases, especially involving high profile athletes, where victims were discredited and even blamed for reporting sexual assault”.
The woman had experienced “depression and anxiety” prior to the alleged incident.
Two days after the rape [the woman] contacted an acquaintance who was friends with [Hayne],” the documents allege.
The friend allegedly spoke with Hayne who “indicated that nothing had happened between” himself and the woman.
The documents say the woman contacted Hayne via Instagram and “asked him to tell her what had happened and why he would do that to her”.
“This time,” the documents allege, “[Hayne] admitted to the sexual contact by stating that they had ‘hooked up’.”
The court papers say the woman still experiences pain and in April last year went to a hospital emergency department for an examination.
The documents say that the San Jose police “investigated the matter conducting witness interviews”, but the District Attorney informed the woman “there was not enough evidence to prove the crime of rape beyond reasonable doubt”.

HAYNE’S TIME IN THE NFL
Hayne rocked the NRL in October 2014, by announcing he was leaving the competition after nine seasons with the Parramatta Eels to pursue an NFL career.
He signed with the 49ers in March 2015, and became the biggest story in Australian sport after breakout performances in the preseason later that year.
After playing the first six games of the NFL season as a punt returned and running back, Hayne was waived by the 49ers and spent the bulk of December 2015, as a member of the team’s practice squad.
He was promoted back to the 53-man roster on December 26 and played the final two games of the season.
Hayne announced his retirement from the NFL in May, 2016, as he sought to join the Fiji Rugby Sevens team for the Rio Olympics.
There is no suggestion Hayne quit the NFL because of the police investigation at the time.
After his Rugby Sevens attempt was unsuccessful he returned to Australia, spending last season with the Gold Coast Titans. He endured a tumultuous stay on the Glitter Strip, clashing with coach Neil Henry, who was later sacked, before rejoining Parramatta for the 2018 season.
Hayne also starred at the Rugby League World Cup last month, leading Fiji to the semi-finals.
Hayne became a father in late 2016 after having a daughter, Bel, with then-partner Amellia Bonnici. Bonnici resides on the NSW mid-north coastal town of Forster with Bel and her family.

Show me where in this thread I have said 'it's their own fault.'

Stop projecting...and save the Trump digs for the Donald Trump thread...not that I expect a mod to crack down on you or anything...what with the left wing shithole this place has become lately...

What about men? What if a guy gets drunk and commits an offense or is a victim of a crime? He should've known better right?

It's his own fault... Shouldn't have drank too much... He needs to man up... So you got raped up the arse...stop being a little bitch about it!

As far as I am concerned, it's very simple.
Yes, if a woman gets blind drunk, she will be at risk of being abused by the scumbags of this world, and yes I that is what I have taught my daughter.
However, anyone taking advantage of a woman in such a state, would be exactly one of said scumbags and 100% to blame, not the girl for doing something most of us have done at one point or another... and if it was my daughter involved despite what I have taught her, I would 100% support her, and fucking castrate the guy who did it.

Now, of course I trust my daughter, but I don't know whether this case is buyers remorse.
What I do believe, is that if the girl was indeed as drunk as alleged, Hayne is a piece of shit.

"There's a difference between being drunk and being so drunk you can't walk imo." Tom.

Your response:
"yes but either way you only have yourself to blame"

and for those playing at home, we are talking about a woman claiming she was raped. Not so drunk she got in a fight, not so drunk she fell over...

The woman in question could be lying, and I don't put it past women to act as poorly as men in order to make money, but I also don't trivialise epidemic, systemic abuse.

Your last two sentences have revealed for all to see your lack of intelligence and character.

Yeah heaven forbid bringing up the notion that women are accountable for their actions.

We hear all the time about the need for guys to 'man up'. Suggesting the idea that women might need to 'woman up' yeah...silly idea......not even the fucking crickets are chirping at that.

So how does someone ‘woman up’? Stay at home? Dress conservatively? Don’t get drunk? Remain in the kitchen?

I hope that last sentence is a joke, but while getting shitfaced is the person's own fault, they can only be blamed for their own wrongdoings, not for anyone taking advantage of their condition.

P.S. Sorry this isn't the Breitbart satellite you'd like it to be.

The ‘man-up’ concept should die an overdue death IMO, as it is much of the cause of male suicides. There’s a great documentary series on Iview about it. Not sure it adds much weight to your argument, most of which I agree with.

Either way, I hope justice is served.

Yeah I agree. Fucking hate that term. Male suicide is a huge issue but it won't get much airplay in this day and age.

I guess I'm coming at this from the angle of 'severe intoxication' and not 'sexual assault'. I'm not a fucking barbarian. Of course... Of - fucking - course sexual assault is not the victim's fault, either male or female. It's a horrible crime.

Getting drunk and blind off your face...flame me all you want - it is 100% your fault and everything that goes with it. It's just the way I feel.

And trust me - I'm a guy that has crawled into the bottom of an empty bottle and at one time decided to live there.
