NRL Players and family members in hot water

Alex Glenn had vids up of a bunch of nrl players riding the streets drunk without helmets. Far worse behaviour than knocking on the wrong door
I agree it isn’t a big deal but he clearly did more than knock on the wrong door and you aren’t helping your argument with statements like that. The cops thought they might have been able to charge him but the people involved wouldn’t press charges.
I am not trying to argue the rights and wrongs about his behaviour because I don’t know all the details and I certainly did worse at his age but your rhetorical style of making statements that massively underplay the facts doesn’t help your credibility.

Every time something like this happens I imagine myself in that position. I think back to how I was at the same age and know that there's no way in hell I wouldn't have been just as stupid.

This doesn't apply to rape and/or assault scenarios as I didn't actually ever want to hurt people that way. However I could see myself in a bad situation from poor decisions whilst drunk. I had very little skill concerning thinking things through and would have landed in serious trouble especially with the money, celebrity and amazing physical presence and buff body. My world at that time didn't have todays tech and old footballers say the same concerning the tech angle.

I couldn't in any good conscience judge offenders without considering how I'd have behaved in their shoes.
I don't think it's remotely close to the same thing for people of our vintage.
The education now is there from an early age and social media / mobile phones etc is a way of life.
These guys are making decisions under a different set of rules with life changing $$ to consider so if they can't get it right bad luck.

Oh no not my precious credibility on an anonymous forum. Whatever will I do.

No no no, I'm sorry no. 20 years old is 20 years old in ANY era! Education is certainly provided, dead right there but maturity you just cannot expect. Life changing money has always affected people and most frequently unfavourably so when it happens to a 20 year old, well...

Maybe I'm in the minority, but when I was 20, I knew right from wrong. I didn't put myself into shady situations.

It's not that difficult to do, you know.
When I was in my teens/early 20's, all the blokes who regularly had to have an interview with police, well they still have regular interviews now too, they're just smarter about hiding it.

A flog is a flog, age is irrelevant. Young adults are not that dumb, case in point, the vast majority of NRL players are never dumb enough to get in trouble and have the cops called.

I'm with you mate. I never got into trouble because I knew right from wrong. Anybody making excuses for these twits 'because they are young' or 'what 20yo doesn't get in strife?' are way off the mark.

So glad with the sounds of silence... just hard training going on with the Broncs, refreshing. This time last year we had the drunk non driving and the Bali incident, both young gentleman now no longer our problem, might have missed some events?

Great that we are talking about Milford's lack of skin folds and not how Tinder or Balinese policing works... ahhh.. silence..

Oh... and what a classic Gold Coast thing to have done.. some genuine momentum being built and a promising next season on the horizon, then they go and sign a non spine option on 'Alan Bond' overs purely on the basis of one upping the Broncs.. just classic shoot themselves in the foot Gold Coast unfortunately.
" just classic shoot themselves in the foot Gold Coast unfortunately."
I'd prefer to change the word unfortunately to hilariously :rofl

The way I see it there is a big difference between an immature decision and a right/ wrong decision .
This is his 3rd public incident already.
All minor stuff in my book, but still, a growing trend of a young man not listening.

Hey, I'm not disagreeing with you. Dex, sometimes a right/wrong decision and an immature decision are one and the same.

Regardless of the ins and outs of this most recent incident I still couldn't consider it without first imagining it was me AND how I'd like others to view it.

Truthfully though, we probably really should be grateful to the Titans for taking him off our hands. I don't wish the Tits or him failure but this incident certainly pushes my views more towards the '**** Fifita' brigade.

All I know is that if I had 1.25M to invest in a NRL player for my team, I would want somebody of top notch character to represent my team and brand and near the top of the game skill wise, that money is buying the best there is in the NRL so I wouldn't be gambling on talent developing, or a questionable character reforming, no need to take those kind of risks with those dollars.. no need at all.

We are in agreeance. I like the Titans and accept Fifi made a decision for himself .
I just hope he wakes up and makes the most of his talent.

Only soft if you play for one of the chosen few. Spineless, gutless wankers all of the management.

Brent Naden has been given a back-dated 1 month suspension for using cocaine, therefore, he doesn't serve any punishment at all and is free to return to training on Friday.

The NRL really is soft, aren't they?

Meanwhile we suspended Haas for 4 games for telling the integrity unit to **** off out of his families private business. Being noble in this comp serves only to make you weaker and we need to ditch this high road shit if nobody else is obligated to it.

what is with the NRL and backdating suspensions, so no punishment is served, FMD

I could understand it it he was stood down during the season, effectively missing games while the investigation happened. then if they determined that his infraction was only worth a month on the sidelines (and he had already missed a month of footy) then time served may be "appropriate"

but PVL is the NRL's saviour 🙄

hell if you read Kent's trash, he says that PVL isn't just the saviour of the NRL, but he also "rescued" Australia from the COVID crisis. he has even done a TIME Man of the Year mock up with PVL's picture on it :rofl

the sad thing is if we didn't do that, we probably would have lost Haas for 6 weeks out of spite from the NRL
