Salary cap applies for THAT year. Why spend overs for future potential?
Seriously, no wonder Sydney clubs are so crap...they don't pay for CURRENT value.

Oh yeah, because the Triple M call team know EXACTLY how much each player is getting!!!! [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

You're a douche.
I know you are but what am I?

And did they say they know how much each player is on. They said DANIEL ANDERSON said they were over the cap. Hello, McFly anybody home?

Coxy - How is 325k for Taylor a bad decision? We won't know for a few years yet - If Taylor turns into the best prop in the comp and plays for Aus and QLD in a few years, then it'll be the best money Souths have ever spent. And how do you know that Taylor is on that much? Media sad it? Did Taylor himself come out and say, "I'm getting 325k a year". No he didn't. Therefore, we don't know shit.

But I think the point being made was that there certainly could be some surprises when it comes to how much players are paid - far out, these whinging Bluezers need to settle down, all this living on the defensive would be so tiring

But if he does reach potential, they could end up losing him for a mere $50K more than that to go to a better club where he might actually win a premiership...so it'd be $325K or $650K or even $975K wasted!

ESPECIALLY considering, if you look in your OWN BACKYWARD we have guys like Folau, Hunt, Lockyer, Wallace, Thaiday, Hodges.......man! That's a tonne more superstars that Parra have, yet I don't see you questioning our club.

Yeah, haven't seen the broncos have to let players go over the last couple of years, Petero, Tatey, Hannant, Ennis, Boyd, to name just a handful - clearly we must have a salary cap issue - god damn you are kidding yourself

Considering the situation that Parra is in, plus the money they need to be paying, considering they are and seem to be bound to remain a losing side, to keep top line players in their side

The broncs will never need to pay as much as a side like parra because you're automatically a big deal because you're playing for Brisbane, but at parra, there needs to be more money on the table

Oh, and last year you couldn't watch channel 9 without them drooling over Inu all year long, and you claim he would have only gotten a tiny increase - get real

Daniel Anderson said that they were "over the cap" did he? I hope the NRL are onto their case, stat. An investigation should be initiated, and Parra should then probably lose all their points.

Also, If they have nothing left in the cap now, did you ever realise that Finch is gone and Cayless is retiring at the end of the year? No?

And you were agreeing with Gus claiming that it sounds a bit suspect that guys like Cayless, Hindmarsh, Hayne etc were on big money. That's what pisses me off. You, Gus, and everyone else doesn't realise how much they are paying players, so don't speculate about it and suggest that they might be over the cap. ESPECIALLY considering, if you look in your OWN BACKYWARD we have guys like Folau, Hunt, Lockyer, Wallace, Thaiday, Hodges.......man! But paying Taylor 325k for that year might be a good thing for their long term success. It lures him to the club, and if he can play well in the next few years then they'll be thankful that they paid him 325k just to get him there.[/quote:1uxj67ei]
Do you read with your eyes closed? He said they were at their capacity. I never said they were rorting the cap, i said that one of the players that would help them reach the capacity would have been jarrad Hayne. No where did anyone (but you) say they were over the cap.

Lolcomprehensionfail. [icon_thumbs_do

I would have maybe thought that the point of Gus' comments would have been how on earth are a team like Parra at the limit of their cap when they're a team of nobodies apart from a few names and playing as crap as they are? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that appears to be what mrslong was saying and Rock has interpreted it as someone saying Parra are doing the dodge on the salary cap. [icon_shru

But it's not like Inu is sitting around on 200k a year or something. Clubs aren't that stupid, he was far from a proven player in 2007.

Yes exactly Emma, thank you, and the original point of my post was that Gus had forgotten about the goldmine that is Jarryd Hayne...

Souths bidding for a PROP forward, who has already showed what he is capable of, and a player who is tipped to become something big, is a much different scenario to the Eels paying shit loads for a winger, especially considering the depth they had in the backs at the time.

So Nice try Coxy.[/quote:1r54wrhw]

This is two threads in 5 minutes Rocky. Seriously, it's not going to hurt you to admit you're wrong mate.

My sole aim in life is to get Rocky to admit he was wrong. Just once and I'll die a happy woman.
