Hodges did a good job of containing Jennings when Brisbane played the Panthers.

Not as good as the secutiy guards the following night though. Maybe the selectors should see if the guards are available for QLD selection

If we ( qld) are fair dinkum we will smash them in the forwards department......this is where we will have the advantage IMO......We used to always pick small forwards but now we have such a talent pool to pick from.

Are you serious? Our props are great but in their mid-30's. NSW will target them around the rucks all game.

Hodges knows he is no chance against Jennings in defence if Jennings gets a bit of room to move.

Our back row is good but I think they (and our outside backs) will find it hard going against a backrow like Creagh, Waterhouse and Gallen.

As for Mullen and Campese, they'll do just fine. Bet on it.

i dint mean just the props .....i meant the whole forward pack...all they have to do is bait gallen , he will go nuts and have a fight and get sent off........

This will be one very close Origin series.

Hmmm ... Didn't Hodges - because he was worried about Jennings speed off the mark - get caught out a few times because he kept moving up maybe too early on Jennings and maybe got caught out, leaving a gap?

Hodges' tactic was to rush up and shut the play down, yes. I don't recall too many occasions when they actually did get outside him without him having spoiled the play in some way.

I don't now why people persist on selecting ennis lol.
Farah is the superior player and has shown that not to mention has been in top class form for 4 years now.
Tigers game, playing with an unkown halfback and john LOL morris at 6, was the main hand in all 4 tries for the tigers, and only hazem el masris kicking game won it for the dogs, Farah was easily MOM but losing team, so their was no chance for him to get it.

City country, farah was 2nd best on field after wallace, made 41 tackles with 0 misses, ennis made about 25 and had 4 misses.

Farah is the better player, he is tougher then ennis (I don't know where this whole Farah isn't tough thing has come from) stats wise has it all over ennis, makes on average 15 tackles more per match yet still has less misses, his in game kicks are better and plays like a 2nd halfback. NSW would be silly not to select farah, he could be a huge danger for qld and showed in city country him and wallace have a good combination.

Based on what is Ennis>Farah? Farah's defence is better, and he's more creative in attack, they're both good, but Ennis isn't better.
and yes, I would take smith over both.

Ennis is tougher, has more gamesmanship (ie, gets under the skin of opposition), better kicking game (when he doesn't try and kick for himself), better organiser.

Farah is soft. He'll get smashed at Origin level.

Simple. Exhibit is any of the Tigers games where they are being soundly beaten. Farah is MIA. Going gets tough, Farah gets going...to the background.

In Origin, NSW can't afford that, because they will find themselves constantly, repeatedly and utterly behind the eight ball against this Queensland team which is the best Origin side in the history of the competition.

Queensland is raging hot favourite, and if anyone tries to claim Queensland is the underdog they should take a hot dog up the arse and cover it in mustard (too far?).

I know, hence my other post in this thread about Queensland having this series sewn up before a ball is kicked. The Blues have a young, inexperienced back line and no front rowers...up against the Australian back line and front row. They're dead and buried.
